By a practitioner from Mainland China

For more than four years, Dafa practitioners have exposed the evil of the persecution in Mainland China and clarified the truth through many different means. They have played an important role in validating Dafa. In addition to this work, I think that it is very effective to file lawsuits.

Filing lawsuits means to sue those individuals who have persecuted Dafa and Dafa practitioners, and request an investigation of their responsibilities. What this method draws on are the laws of mankind. Across the great distance, this effort will coordinate with the work of overseas practitioners who have filed lawsuits against Jiang Zemin. We can expose the persecution to the public, and help people learn what kind of evil has been done, and thus effectively frighten those who have persecuted Dafa and Dafa practitioners.

The lawsuit approach inside China at this time might include an appeal to request that a charge against a Falun Dafa practitioner be removed, or a job restored, or to request an administrative re-examination of the case.

A lawsuit could also be used to file the administrative proceedings necessary to request that a wrongful decision of "reeducation" in a labor camp or other administrative penalties be changed. A civil lawsuit could also be filed to stop the persecution, restore a reputation or request indemnity pay for damages. We can also file a criminal lawsuit to request that those reponsible for the persecution be held liable for their actions.

As Dafa practitioners, we have to be extremely sober and rational when we file lawsuits. It is my understanding that it might be best to file lawsuits based on our own personal situations - about being detained, being hurt or insulted, or suffering any other aspect of the persecution that we face.

The indictment could bring to justice those who are directly responsible locally. Only in the situation where the evidence is very favorable can we file a lawsuit against local officials or others responsible. Maybe for the time being, we could temporarily leave out the high ranking officials, because involving them can easily be used as an excuse for further persecution.

Under the current situation, the lawsuits against high ranking officials can be undertaken by overseas practitioners. The practitioners from Mainland China should be responsible for providing the facts about the persecution and letting the whole world know about the savage acts perpetrated by Jiang's political gang.

Dafa practitioners must calm our hearts and study the Fa more. The difficult process of preparing and filing legal documents is also an aspect of clarifying the truth. Through participating in the lawsuits, the officials and others who are involved in dealing with the lawsuits will come to understand the truth and further understand Falun Dafa.

We should not attach too much to the results of the lawsuits. It's more important to expose the evil and clarify the truth through the lawsuit process.
