Provincial Government Employee Wang Wei Is Interrogated, Tortured, and Sentenced to Forced Labor

(Clearwisdom.net October 7, 2003) Mr. Wang Wei, in his thirties, worked as a chief staff member at the accounting office of Jilin Province. He began practicing Falun Dafa in 1996 and served as an excellent government employee.

After Jiang Zemin started persecuting Falun Dafa in July of 1999, Wang Wei went to Beijing in order to appeal. At Tiananmen Square, he unfurled a banner and shouted "Falun Dafa Is Good." Because of this, he was sentenced to one year of forced labor.

In March of 2003 and before the "Two Assemblies" of the central government, Jilin provincial "610 Office"* and the "610 Office" of the province's subsidiary labor committee pressured the accounting office of Jilin Province to force Wang Wei and two other Dafa practitioners to attend a brainwashing session to persecute them. The local police in Wang Wei's residential area took Wang Wei's whole family to the police station in the evening. Wang thus found an opportunity to walk away.

After the conclusion of the "Two Assemblies," Wang Wei went back to work. At around 9:00 am on March 30, 2003, however, Wang Wei was arrested by Sub-division 2 of the Public Security Brigade of Changchun City Police Bureau. Ms. Chen Jing and Ms. Her Xiulan of the same government branch were also arrested at the same time.

Wang Wei was taken to an unknown area for interrogation. Gao Peng, with a group of 4 or 5 people, brutally tortured Wang Wei and detained him at the Tiebei Detention Center. Later on, Changchun Forced Labor Education Committee illegally sentenced Wang Wei to a two-year forced labor term for "disturbing public security." They sent him to Weizigou Labor Camp of Changchun City. Wang Wei wanted to appeal and protest against the unfair judgments made and expose the brutal and evil actions of the Changchun City Police Department. However, Weizigou Labor Camp unreasonably turned down his request and confiscated his materials. Wang Wei was just recently transferred to the Chaoyangou Labor Camp of Changchun City to be further persecuted.
