Practitioners' Feet Burned with Cigarette Lighters and Electric Irons: The Atrocities at the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp

In order to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their beliefs, the police of Group 1 in Jiutai Forced Labor Camp, Jilin Province, torment practitioners with wooden sticks, electric batons, straps, plastic tubes and other torture instruments. They have even used cigarette lighters and an electric iron to burn practitioner's feet, as well as subjected the entire group of practitioners to forcible "transformation."

At noon on March 22, 2002, the Group 1 police tortured Mr. Jin Chunlai. While he was being beaten, more than ten Dafa practitioners from No. 1 cell rushed out the door to stop the violence. All the police from Group 1 participated in the persecution of practitioners, as they were instructed to do by Meng Fanrong, Shi Chunfeng, Gao Chunbo, and clerk Lu Yanhui etc. Mr. Dong Fengshan clarified the truth to the police and was tortured with an electric baton by Lu Yanhui in the office, then was sent to the "Education Team" to be severely persecuted.

In order to stop the persecution, seven Dafa practitioners, including Mr. Wang Daming, Mr. Dong Guangwen, and Mr. Lin Qingsheng, started a hunger strike around 7 p.m. on the 22^nd. The police tortured them with electric batons, soaked them with water, covered them with plastic, and beat them with straps. Two policemen took turns beating them with straps, and stepped on their heads while four prisoners pressed down their hands and feet. The practitioners' entire bodies festered with severe wounds. Their faces were also beaten to the point of being completely distorted. This took place was at the police office of Group 1 and the water dungeon. Li Baicheng and Shi Guojun were beaten up and tormented by the police eight times.

On January 29, 2001, Yin Xiang Hui and Zhang Lu were tortured by the police and convicts, including Zheng Chan, who has since been executed, and Li Wei.

Police and prisoners beat Mr. Wang Liguo's ribs with plastic tubes. As a result, his ribs were exposed and severely injured; he did not recover for over a month. The police tortured Mr. Yu and burned his feet with a lighter and an electric iron.
