Proclamation
Commemorating Falun Dafa Week
October 6th through October 12, 2003

Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners, joined by practitioners from all across the country, are celebrating the 7th anniversary of Falun Dafa being introduced into the USA by holding a conference and other activities on October 12th 2003; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa or Falun Gong, is a system of exercises and teachings rooted in ancient Chinese culture which seeks to reduce stress, improve health, encourage peace of mind and generally transform the body, mind, and spirit in positive ways; and

Whereas, introduced in 1992 by Mr. Li Hongzhi, Falun Dafa has attracted millions of proponents around the world who attend in the positive benefits of its five gentle exercises and sitting meditation; and

Whereas, transcending cultural and national barriers with its simple but profound principle of Truthfulness (Zhen), Compassion (Shan), and Forbearance (Ren). Falun Dafa promotes honesty, empathy and kindness, and patience, while encouraging peacefulness and harmony, qualities much needed in today's world; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioner volunteers have gladly shared the simple but energizing exercises of Falun Dafa with residents of our city, many other cities of Texas, and many parts of the United States and other countries; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa's contributions have been widely recognized and honored around the world; and

Whereas, the great compassion, tolerance, and courage demonstrated by Falun Dafa practitioners in adhering to their beliefs under the most severe conditions has touched the hearts and should be honored by free people everywhere;

Now, Therefore, I, Murray Moore, hereby proclaim the week of October 6th through October 12th, 2003 as Falun Dafa Week.

In official recognition whereof, I hereby affix my signature this 9th day of October, 2003.
