Facts of Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Luohe City, Henan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Ding Xiangqin from Luohe City is 30 years old. She was detained at the Shibalihe Women's Detention Center in Zhengzhou City for two years and seven months. She never gave up the practice of Dafa. She was sent to a brainwashing session organized by the Luohe City "610 Office"* when her term ended in 2003. She escaped the second night by jumping from the second floor of the building. Her whereabouts are not known.

Ms. Su Aihua from Luohe City is in her fifties. The persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999. She was illegally arrested many times. In October 1999, after she went to Beijing to appeal, her employer monitored her activities for two weeks. She was fined 5,000 Yuan [Chinese urban workers earn 500 Yuan average monthly wage]. In 2001, she wrote a solemn declaration to claim the brainwashing forced upon her is void. Then she clarified the truth of Dafa to the Chinese Communist Party secretary of the "610 Office." She was detained for another five months and then sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. The camp refused her since she could not pass the physical examination. In October 2002, she was arrested for producing Dafa truth clarification materials. Since she had not given up the practice of Dafa, she was sentenced to four years in jail.

In August 2003, near death from torture, police officers sent Su to the Xinxiang Women's Jail. Also arrested with Su were Ms. Liu Hongxia, Mr. Yang Yinfeng, Mr. Song Yongfeng, Mr. Wang Guisheng, Ms. Liu Yuzhi and her husband, Mr. Jin Dekuan, Mr. Yan Tianwen, Ms. Zhou Jianli. The police also took some computers, cellular phones, money and other items. Mr. Jin Dekuan, Mr. Wang Guisheng, Ms. Liu Yuzhi and Mr. Yan Tianwen were illegally sentenced to one year in Jail. Ms. Liu Hongxia, Mr. Yang Yinfeng, and Mr. Song Yongfeng were sentenced to two years in forced labor camp.

The Luohe City "610 Office" plans to start a new brainwashing session in September. So far, the Luohe City office has been responsible for illegally sentencing over 60 Dafa practitioners to forced labor camps, 16 to jail and one was persecuted to death.

* "610 Office": specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party. It also has power over the political and judiciary branches.
