Dafa practitioner Ms. Qiu Yuxia had been detained at the Jiamusi Labor Camp for nearly three years. In August 2003 her relatives became very concerned after they heard that Yuxia had lost feeling in her two hands due to torture and could no longer take care of herself. Yuxia's sisters came to the labor camp again, asking to visit their sister. The camp police refused their request. Out of desperation, they told the camp police that they would appeal to a higher authority if their wish was not granted, and that the camp officials would bear all consequences if anything happened to Yuxia. The camp police knew they were in the wrong and reluctantly brought Yuxia out for them to see. When they saw that Yuxia's arms were just hanging like they were paralyzed, they asked her what happed. Yuxia told them it was caused by the torturous handcuffing over the shoulder and behind the back applied by the labor camp guards. The relatives then demanded that the camp guards explain why they tortured their sister like this, the guards replied, "It was for your sister's own safety." Only the Jiang regime could fabricate such ridiculous excuses.
Yuxia's family demanded that the labor camp provide medical treatment for Yuxia. After the camp guards found out that Yuxia's family went to the Procuratorate Office, they started to retaliate against Qiu Yuxia. In spite of her very high blood pressure, camp guard Chen Chunmei forced Qiu Yuxia to walk for long periods without assistance. Qiu Yuxia fell to the floor. The medical office prognosis indicated that Qiu Yuxia could only lie down from now on because she could suffer an accident at any time with such high blood pressure. Yet camp guard Chen Chunmei, Mu Zhenjuan and Gao Xiaohua did not make any provisions for Qiu Yuxia to lie down and rest during the day. They forced others to carry her to the workshop each day, and carry her back in the evenings.
Currently Qiu Yuxia is in critical condition. When her family and work unit again demanded to visit her at the labor camp, the camp director Xu Guiying lied to them, "Your sister is fine, you can all go back home now." That evening, when her family called the labor camp again, the camp guard on duty bragged, "So you went to the Procuratorate Office. So go ahead and sue us." Now the camp tried to conceal the truth and arranged medical treatment for Qiu Yuxia. But they made up the story in the labor camp that Qiu Yuxia was fine after she went to the hospital, "the prognosis was good." Even the inmates were coached to corroborate their story.

(Clearwidom.net) Practitioner Luo Donglai, female, 35 years old, is a sales person at Yixing Steel Factory. On the night before the 2002 National Day (October 1), a few police officers from Fenghuang Police Station of Public Security Bureau at Echeng District in Ezhou City, suddenly charged into Luo Donglai's home. Because they did not show any papers, her husband refused to let them in. The second night, six police came with search warrants and confiscated truth-clarifying materials and equipment. Luo Donglai was illegally sentenced to four years in jail. She was transferred to Wuhan City in June of this year. After she was arrested, her home phone was monitored. A practitioner from Jiangbeilin City Huanggang District with the surname of Xu was also arrested for calling her home. The materials confiscated from her home were so many they were hauled away using a cart. The losses are enormous and the current location of the materials is unknown. In early April 2001, Luo Donglai was sentenced to a labor camp.
Practitioner Liu Xiuying, female, around 40 years old, is an accountant at Echeng Restaurant in Echeng District of Ezhou City. During the 2002 national day, Liu Xiuying was abducted on the street by police from the Fenghuang Police Station at Echeng District of Ezhou City. Police then searched her house and confiscated the book Zhuan Falun. Just for having this one book, she was sentenced to two years in a labor camp. Now she has been unlawfully detained at Wuhan Shizishan Labor Camp. When she was at Wuhan City she was also forced to attend brainwashing sessions. At the beginning of April 2001, Liu Xiuying was unlawfully sentenced to one and half years in a labor camp without a legitimate reason.
Practitioner Wang Junzhen, male, around 30 years old, received his Master's in computer technology from a university in Wuhan City. He is from Shandong City. During National Day celebrations in 2000, practitioner Wang Junzhen and his fianc e went to an Internet caf at Ezhou City three days before their wedding to send truth-clarification materials via the Internet. He was reported by the Internet caf owner and later arrested. In November 2001, he was unlawfully sentenced to three years by the Ezhou City Echeng District Court. He was later transferred to Shayang at Hubei Province. He is the first practitioner to be sentenced in the entire city. It is possible that he has now been released.
Practitioner Shi Wei, male, 30 years old, works as a mailman at the Hubei Province Huanggang Post Office. Towards the end of August 2000, Shi Wei was arrested because he went to Ezhou City to share experiences with practitioners and distributed truth clarification materials to local city leaders. He was secretly sentenced to three years in jail in December 2001. He was later transported to Wuhan City. He was the second practitioner to be sentenced in Ezhou City. He has now been released. The 610 Office* at Ezhou City frequently uses closed-door sentencing, where no one, including family members, are allowed. There are no lawyers present, either.
Gong Guilan, female, around 40 years old, is a clerk at the Ezhou City Qianwang Factory city division. She was demoted to a janitor after July 20. Her monthly wage was only around 200 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan]. Towards the end of August 2000, Gong Guilan was arrested because she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and was sentenced to three years. Practitioner Gong's husband passed away early due to work injury and left behind one son and daughter, who are both in school. Practitioner Gong has been arrested many times before and she has now been released.
Practitioner Guo Liai, female, around 58 years old, is a retiree from the cafeteria at the Ezhou City Steelworks factory. Towards the end of August 2000, Guo was arrested for clarifying the truth and later unlawfully sentenced to seven years. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Practitioner Huang Fangbiao, male, 34 years old, is a group leader at the Ezhou City Wuchen Steelworks factory. This factory used to be called the Ezhou City Bayi Steelworks factory. At the beginning of June 2001, Huang Fangbiao was arrested for clarifying the truth and was later sentenced to more than three years. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Practitioner Ji Xietang, approximately 45 years old, is a college graduate who used to be the deputy of the Ezhou City government. In April 2001, practitioner Ji Xietang was kidnapped to the Ezhou City Lianhuashan Brainwashing Center. He was arrested on May 29, 2001 because he distributed truth-clarification materials. Practitioner Cao Zhenguo, male, 34 years old, is a factory worker at Ezhou City. In January 2000, Cao Zhenguo was arrested for going to Beijing to appeal twice and was later sentenced to a labor camp for one and a half years. Not long after he returned from Shayang, towards the end of February 2001, he was kidnapped again to the Ezhou City Lianhuashan Brainwashing Center. Because he did not cooperate with the evil, he was imprisoned at the Ezhou City First Detention Center for seven months. In January 2002, practitioner Cao was again arrested for clarifying the truth and was later unlawfully sentenced to nine years. It is probable that he is now at Shayang Labor Camp.
Practitioner Wu Zhigang, male, 28 years old, is a worker at the Ezhou City Steelworks Factory. In January 2000, practitioner Wu was arrested because he also went to Beijing to appeal twice and was later sentenced to one year in a labor camp. In January 2002, he was again arrested for clarifying the truth and was secretly sentenced to six years. Now he is detained at Shayang Labor Camp. His wife and son lead a very hard life without him.
Practitioner Jiang Guangxiang, male, approximately 40 years old, works at the Ezhou City Electricity Department. In January 2000, he was jailed by the Ezhou City First Detention Center for seven months because he appealed in Beijing. In 2001 he was kidnapped to the Ezhou City Donggou Town brainwashing center and persecuted for 10 days. Towards the end of February 2001, he was kidnapped again to the Ezhou City Lianhuashan Brainwashing Center for more than four months. In January 2002, he was arrested again for clarifying the truth and later secretly sentenced to more than three years. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Practitioner Wang Chenhong, male, 27 years old, is a worker at the Ezhou City Gudi Rubber company. Towards the end of February 2001, Wang was kidnapped to the Ezhou City Lianhuashan brainwashing center, where he was tortured for more than four months. In January 2002, he was arrested for clarifying the truth and was later sentenced to more than three years in jail. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Practitioner Xiong Chunlin, male, 26 years old, is a worker at the Ezhou City Steelworks factory. In January 2000 he was arrested for appealing in Beijing and later sentenced to labor camp for one and a half years. In 2002 he was taken to the Hubei Province Wuhan City Brainwashing Center and tortured for one month.
Practitioner Gao Zhuyun, female, around 40 years old, is a worker at the Ezhou City Steelworks Factory. She was arrested in February 2001 for clarifying the truth and was later unlawfully sentenced to three years in a labor camp. She is now jailed at Wuhan City. During this time she was taken to the Hubei Province Brainwashing Center and tortured for one month.
Practitioner Li Shaoxian, female, 32 years old, is a worker at the Ezhou City Steelworks Factory. In 1999, Li Shaoxian (practitioner Cao Zhenguo's wife) was sentenced to one year in a labor camp by the Ezhou City Xishan Substation (originally the Ezhou Steelworks factory police department) simply for saying one sentence, "My head can be lost and my blood can flow, but I cannot lose Falun Dafa." She has been taken to Wuhan Shizishan. She is the first practitioner to be sentenced to labor camp at Ezhou City. She escaped seven months later using righteous thoughts.
Practitioner Hu Shaolan, female, 37 years old, was originally the head of the human resources department of the Yixing Steel Factory. After being forced to leave the factory, she and her son live a very hard life by themselves. On fourth of January of the 2001 Spring Festival, she was arrested when appealing at Beijing. At the beginning of 2002 she was sentenced to three years in a labor camp. Her son is still at primary school.
Liu Zhenying, male, around 47 years old, works at the Hubei Province Duojia Group. Towards the end of August 2000, he was arrested for clarifying the truth and was later sentenced to two years in a labor camp. He has now been released.
Xuting, female, 19 years old, is a student at the Ezhou City University. She is from Taian City in Shandong Province. Towards the end of August 2000, she was arrested for clarifying the truth and jailed for more than one month at the Ezhou City First Detention Center. After coming to Ezhou City during the 2001 Spring Festival, she was arrested again for clarifying the truth and was later sentenced to three years in a labor camp. She has now been released.

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Liu Zhigang was a teacher in Sangyuan Town Middle School, of Wuqiao County, Hebei Province. His wife, Gao Lihua, worked in a factory owned by the Wuqiao County Food Bureau. In July 2001, under the persecution of Jiang's regime, the couple was forced to leave their home and work to live on the streets. As of October 1, 2003, the Wuqiao County police have continuously harassed their friends and relatives, including their child, who does not practice Falun Dafa. Coordinated by Jing County police department, officers posted in Wuqiao County have been incited to deceive, impose fines, and falsely arrest Liu Zhigang and Gao Lihua's family both day and night for over two years.
In August 2001, police officers from Wuqiao County caught Mr. Liu's brother-in-law, beat him, forced him to sit on the tiger bench (a torture device), and interrogated him for the whereabouts of the practitioners. He was released after they accepted a bribe from his family. In September of the same year, they arrested Mr. Liu's older sister's son and interrogated him. He was released after his family was forced to pay 3,000 Yuan. *
In October 2002, police from Wuqiao County arrested Mr. Liu's second oldest brother (Mr. Liu's fifteen-year-old daughter lived in his second oldest brother's home). Because his 57 year-old brother exhibited high blood pressure, dizziness, and continuous vomiting after being arrested the police were afraid and released him the same day. Before the police had always wanted to arrest Mr. Liu's younger brother, because Mr. Liu's daughter lived in his younger brother's home at that time.
A few days before the Chinese Spring Festival of this year Mr. Liu's 80-year-old mother passed away. She had been harassed and her home violated on numerous occasions by the police. At the funeral the police infiltrated and wanted to arrest the homeless practitioners, but they could not.
On the eve of the Chinese Spring Festival, they went after Mr. Liu's mother and father in-law. In June 2003, in order to trace Mr. Liu's whereabouts, police officers from Wuqiao County illegally arrested his third brother-in-law and detained him for nearly one month, and applied torture to try to get information. They then extorted ten thousand Yuan RMB from his family before releasing him. Next they wanted to arrest Mr. Liu's cousin, who is 60 years old, so his cousin was forced to leave home to avoid persecution.
In June, 2003, under the coordination of Jing County, looking to catch Mr. and Mrs. Liu, the Wuqiao County police department illegally ordered the suspension of their daughter's classes for over ten days, which posed detriment to her school exams.
For over two years, Jing County and Wuqiao County police departments have stooped to new lows trying to illegally arrest determined Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. and Mrs. Liu.

Recently, the branch of Jiang's national security department in a northern city started to collect information about Falun Gong practitioners' relatives, their relatives' employers and their home phone numbers.
Apparently it has something to do with the lawsuit overseas that is charging Jiang with genocide. The national security department is trying to figure out the practitioners who have overseas relatives and block the channels that might be used for the delivery of evidence about the persecution. Their purpose is to place Falun Gong practitioners under surveillance and implement a new plan to extend the persecution.
It has been proven that what Falun Gong practitioners have done overseas is powerful. The large-scale truth-clarification and the lawsuit against Jiang are powerful. They have thrown Jiang's regime into a frenzied panic. We should make persistent efforts and completely eliminate the evil forces, so as to end the persecution and save more people.
We also call attention to security issues when practitioners contact their relatives. Please use your wisdom and eliminate the evil factors with righteous thoughts when you clarify the truth to these people.
(Clearwisdom.net) On October 8th, 2003, the article "Let Go of Self and Assimilate to Dafa" by a practitioner conveyed the words in my heart. Combined with my own cultivation experiences, I would like to share some of my own understanding.
Master said in the article "Position" (Essentials for Further Advancement I):
"Human beings are just human beings. At critical moments it is hard for them to let go of their human notions, but they always try to find excuses to convince themselves. A magnificent cultivator, on the other hand, is able to let go of his Self and even all of his ordinary human thoughts amidst crucial trials."
Whenever I am at a loss in the process of assisting Master in Fa-rectification, I think about this paragraph and I can always find the righteous direction and path.
On July 22nd, 1999, after my return from going to the provincial government to appeal, I was interrogated by the local police till midnight and bailed out by my work unit. After resting for about two hours, I decided to practice the exercises in the park in the morning like before the persecution started and wanted to find other practitioners to go with me. I called our assistant and he said, "We had better not go out now; let's wait until the situation and atmosphere settle down." I went to find other practitioners and some of them had the same thought. Some even urged me not to go. I was in despair and understood somewhat why we could be persecuted: We were so selfish that when Dafa and Master were experiencing danger and slander, our very first thoughts were to protect ourselves.
Early on the morning of the second day, I said to my wife, "I will go to the park to practice the exercises by myself. No matter what others think, I have to do it because I will be killed by my own conscience if I do not go out to practice the exercises." My wife cried to me and said, "Please, do not go, there is nothing that the Party cannot do to you. If I cannot get to see you even when you are alive or get to see your corpse if you are dead, how can I take care of myself?" I still decided to go out to practice. I thought it was very possible that this was the day on which my wife and I would part forever, and I was thinking that this might be the last day to see my wife. I had not thought of returning to her alive, neither had I wanted to let Master protect me. I was thinking that some Dafa disciples must step forward at this moment. If we all maintained silence, wasn't it the same as tacitly accepting the rumors and false charges fabricated by the evil against Dafa and Master?
As usual, I sat down in the center of the park. The only difference was that I did not have the cushion pad and the tape recorder because I did not plan to go back. I started to practice the sitting meditation exercises, Shentong Jiachi Fa (Strenghthening Divine Powers), and my legs crossed in the double lotus position were hurting the same as usual. I gradually calmed myself down. I just intented to let people see that Dafa disciples were not affected and swayed by propaganda on TV. When I opened my eyes once again, I was already surrounded by plainclothes policemen. After one day passed, I was at the local police station again. When the police interrogated me, I imagined that many practitioners would come to the local police station to give me support. The scene I was hoping for did not appear and I felt alone at that moment. At 9:00a.m., I was again bailed out by the supervisor of my work unit.
At that time I did not fully understand what was meant by "Validating Dafa " and "Stepping Forward." All I had was my heart that I was Master's disciple and I should do what I did. I simply wanted to tell people that I was not influenced and swayed by what the government had said, because my understanding towards Master and Dafa at that time was: Dafa created the universe as well as everything in the universe, and Master created this Dafa. So the truth is that Master created everything. Based on this understanding, when everyday people told me that "we were taking an egg to hit a stone", I told them that "We are the stone and they are the egg."
In June 2001, I went to a small city in a province where Master gave two lectures in the neighboring area. The persecution in this area was very serious and bad. This area did not have the information and literature from Minghui net (the Chinese Clearwisdom.net) and urgently needed a materials production site. The deputy head of police department who was responsible for arresting Dafa disciples in that area was extremely cruel, and the measures he used to treat Dafa disciples were extremely vicious. At that time Master had just published the two articles: "Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are Powerful" and "Teaching the Fa at the 2001 Canada Fa Conference." Before long, Master published another Fa-rectification formula, which is "fa zheng tian di, xian shi xian bao" (the Fa (Fa) rectifies (zheng) Heaven (tian) and Earth (di); immediate (xian) retribution (bao) in this lifetime (shi).). Up until now, I have been practicing cultivation in a completely locked state. But it was very strange that one day that I saw the images of Buddhas and humans all over the body of Master's photo on the computer screen. I was very excited and whispered to myself, "Master manifests all of these to encourage you to do a better job in clarifying the truth; you have to be brave, and you have to determinedly believe in Dafa." My understanding at that time was: For a disciple who determinedly believes in Dafa, there is no need to see any godlike manifestations, therefore I was thinking that the degree of my firm belief in Dafa was insufficient.
One day a fellow practitioner told me, "There is a banner slandering Dafa in front of a hotel." I asked, "Why don't you take it down?" He answered, "That is a trap for Dafa practitioners." I was not concerned that much, and another practitioner and I immediately went to that hotel with two sets of scissors in our hands. It was about 5:00 pm, and there were several people around the banner. We each cut one side of the banner and I took it down in my hands. While waving to my fellow practitioner to get a taxi, I folded the banner up to take it away with me so that it would not deceive other people again. At that time several plain-clothes police rushed at me, two of them grabbed my arms and another one pointed his gun to my head. I recited the Fa-rectification formulas but nothing happened to them. It was rush hour and there were lots of people walking and riding bikes by the scene. I called out "Falun Dafa is good" again and again with all my energy, my voice turned hoarse from the strain of yelling those words.
It seemed to be arranged that I was taken to the office of the Police Department Deputy Head who was infamous for being vicious to Dafa practitioners. I did not think of letting him suffer immediate retribution in this life time no matter how viciously they beat me, tortured me, and even when he put his dirty smelly foot into my mouth. However, when he threw Master's portrait on the floor and stepped on it, I was upset and yelled at him, "You will suffer karmic retribution in one hour." They stopped torturing me. When they sent me to the detention center, he said, "It did not work, nothing happened to me." I ignored him.
Now that I understand the Fa more deeply, I realize that at that point of time, I was not rational and calm enough since I did not study the Fa well. However, my firm faith in Master made me give up my selfishness at that time. I did not have any concern as to whether I would achieve Consummation, what the outcome would be, nor was I afraid at all. Once when sharing experiences with fellow practitioners, I asked "You are afraid of losing your job, losing money, losing spouse and children, being sentenced to prison, aren't you afraid that Master is not offering you salvation?" I said, "I am not afraid of anything except for Master not offering me salvation. If Master gave up on me, then I have lost everything."
The purpose for my sharing the above two stories in my cultivation is to illustrate my personal understanding of what it means to let go of selfishness. In fact letting go selfishness does not mean losing oneself. On the contrary, it means finding one's true self, finding the true meaning of one's life. What does "obtaining the Tao" mean? To me, when I was affirmed by Master, when Master chose me, it meant I am one who has "obtained the Tao"; I am getting closer and closer to Master's requirements. When Master taught the Fa in Canada, I remember seeing a banner held by overseas fellow practitioners saying, "Master, we are following you." Such a plain sentence contained deep understandings of the Fa and Master.
What does Master mean to me? The answer is simple: everything, all the meaning of my life, all the efforts of returning to my true nature, and where I ultimately belong. In Master's eyes, my life was as small as a speck of dust in this universe. Not only me, even Kings of universes, or Lords of cosmoses are nothing in Master's eyes, Master chose us since he treasures what he created. I should be grateful for Master for my existence and for the fact that I can cultivate. I understood what Benevolence is when I melted into the Fa like a drop of water returned to the ocean; I realized what the Buddha's boundless grace is when I felt all the arrangements Master made for me to establish my mighty virtue. If one day I have any glory, I am just sharing Master's glory. I have nothing myself, it is Master who gave me everything. In return, what could I offer to Master? Present Master the gifts Master gave to me?
In fact, the only thing we can offer to Master is a pure heart after getting rid of all human attachments.

Teacher created Dafa, which encompasses all life and everything in the entire cosmos. All the sentient beings created by the Fa need to take Teacher's choices and will as their greatest and most immediate responsibility to accomplish. It is imperative that Teacher's will is strictly followed because his wishes are the Fa and the reason why all lives in the cosmos exist.
The old forces placed themselves above the Fa and wanted to be in control of Fa-rectification to reach their goal; this is the opposite of the Fa. Even amidst Teacher's most compassionate salvation, the old forces still stubbornly placed themselves outside of Dafa. In doing so, they have lost the true purpose and meaning of their lives, and are walking towards elimination during Fa-rectification.
This warped idea of the old forces is also reflected in our thoughts to protect and defend ourselves, show off, express ourselves, and elevate ourselves. Almost all attachments are related to satisfying and nurturing the self. To be attached to ourselves is the manifestation of the degenerate and corrupt elements in the cosmos. If all the particles that compose a substance are self-centered, then the connecting mechanisms among the particles which stabilize the material will be weakened and eventually disappear. At this point, the substance will inevitably decompose and deteriorate.
Over the course of cultivation, I have discovered traces of self in my every thought; as soon as I start to think, I begin to contemplate what I want, thus falling into human notions. It is difficult to detect this without careful examination. Sometimes, even when I think that I have a very good thought, when I look deeper I still find elements of myself contained within the thought. Cultivation is indeed boundless. On the other hand, it may be impossible to completely get rid of the influence of "self" within the framework of human notions, for the wisdom of human notions is far too limited.
No matter how well we have cultivated, whenever we are attached to ourselves or whenever we want something in our thoughts (sometimes this is hard to realize), this is the part that has not yet been assimilated to Dafa. Every time we give up a little bit of our attachments to self, a heavy burden is lifted and we become purer. We are still validating the Fa in this human dimension and thus we still have human notions. We have to constantly give up attachments to ourselves, and melt into and assimilate to Dafa. We will then successfully attain the level of selflessness and righteous thoughts; returning to our true selves to again display the true meaning of life created by Dafa.
The above is my experience and understandings gained through studying the Fa and cultivation practice. Please correct any improper points.

In July 2000, after graduating from my Master's degree program, I went back to my hometown. In the middle of November, I found a local Fa-study group. During the following month, there were many touching stories that unfolded around me. Today I would like to commit them to paper as witness to Dafa disciples' cultivation experiences in the Fa-rectification period.
The group Fa-study room was rented by a fellow practitioner who was an out-of-town migrant worker. The room was used for fellow practitioners to study the Fa together and for dissemination of truth-clarifying materials. It was a simple, small room with about 5-6 square meters (50-60 sq-ft) of space, without any furniture, only a lot of soft mats on the ground for meditation or sitting. Starting from July 20, 1999 to the end of 2000, no matter how evil the outside environment was, all the fellow practitioners from the group study kept going there to study the Fa every Saturday, and never skipped it once. Meanwhile, this place was also the dissemination center for Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Regularly there were fellow practitioners carrying boxes of truth-clarifying materials that would be disseminated among fellow practitioners from the group study. There I got to know fellow practitioners Sister Li and Sister Liu, among others.
Sister Li and her husband along with their little child, rented a place for doing business close by a farmer's market. There were so many people in the marketplace going back and forth that no one paid much attention to the place. That was why practitioners liked to go there to get truth-clarifying materials. Sister Li spent more time helping fellow practitioners validate Dafa than with her own business. Each time I went to her place, I would always run into different fellow practitioners there. Practitioners would either discuss and share experiences, or Sister Li would help fellow practitioners pick up truth-clarifying materials.
I heard that during the same year in July, Sister Li went to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa. She was arrested by the police and severely beaten and abused. The police used cigarette butts to burn her hands, face, and lips, yet, she did not tell them her name. The next day, after the torture, Sister Li smiled at the officer who burnt her with a cigarette butt and said hello. The officer felt surprised and asked, "I hurt you so badly, but you still don't hate me?" Sister Li answered with a smile, "No, I don't." The officer was so touched. Afterwards, he was very respectful to her, and later, she was unconditionally released.
One time, Sister Li was standing on a busy business street, holding Dafa truth-clarifying materials and flyers and asked loudly to passers-by, "Who would like to read Falun Gong flyers?" Immediately, a large number of people came up and surrounded her to get the flyers.
Sister Li's husband is also a practitioner. He is a very honest and solid person, and he does not talk much. Each time Sister Li went out with fellow practitioners, he would stay and take care of their business, never complaining. One time, I went to see Sister Li, but he was the only one there. Sister Li had gone out with fellow practitioners. We talked a while and he said to me, "[Sister Li] knows many practitioners and practitioners all like to deal with her. I am willing to take care of family affairs by myself. No matter what, I always consider her Dafa things top priority." Then we also talked about the peaceful cultivation environment we had in the past and he told me a story: In the winter of 1998, it was extremely cold. That day there was a big snow fall, six inches deep, but they still went to the practice site as usual and found that everyone was there. When he was doing the second exercise, he opened his eyes unintentionally and saw that there was a big Falun rotating over the practice site. The color was exactly the same as the one on the cover of Zhuan Falun. Then everyone saw it. Teacher was encouraging us!
Sister Liu lost her family and was forced to become homeless because of the persecution. She was originally a university professor. She was arrested in Beijing because she went there to appeal to the Central Government for Falun Gong. She was sentenced to three years in labor camp. Later, she escaped from the labor camp and came to our area. At the time, besides distributing truth materials directly, they were also sending them out by mail. She was in charge of sending materials to this area. She had to write many addresses on envelopes while still coordinating many Dafa things locally. When I met her, she was considering going to Beijing to appeal again.
One week later, when I went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to unfurl a Falun Gong banner, I was arrested. I was detained in a basement of the Tiananmen Square Police Station, and there I met many fellow practitioners without knowing their names. I saw and heard many touching stories of Fa-validation. Among them, there was an elderly father with his two daughters, a husband and wife, and many others who came there together with their fellow practitioners or who came alone.
Fellow practitioner A was a farmer about 30 years old. One time we could hear from the basement that someone was shouting outside over and over again, "Falun Dafa is good!" Also the police officers' swearing and violence could be heard in between. Later a fellow practitioner who was just thrown in said, "There is a female fellow practitioner who kept shouting ??Falun Dafa is Good!' ever since she was arrested on Tiananmen Square." She kept shouting and was slapped hard in the face by the police. Soon this practitioner was also thrown in and we found out that it was none other than practitioner A herself. Her short hair was very messy from the severe beatings, and her cheeks were red and a little swollen, but she was in good spirits with a smile on her face. Soon after she joined us, she pulled out a banner reading, "Falun Dafa is Good," and hung it on the window of the basement. There were four Chinese characters written on the ceiling of the basement by practitioners that were detained there, which read, "The Fa rectifies the human world." The practitioners were very happy to see the banner and the characters on the ceiling. Later while sharing experiences, I found out that practitioner A was from a northeastern part of China. She started to learn Dafa in May 1999. This was the second time she went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested. The first time she was illegally detained locally for more than four months and her family was fined over 10,000 yuan (this is a huge amount for a rural practitioner). During the first time she was detained, she learned by heart and could recite more than forty short essays and poems written by Teacher.
Fellow practitioner B was also from a northeastern part of China. She looked very young and beautiful. She sat beside me on the ground and we talked. After our chat, I found out that she was already over 30 years old. She had a 2-year-old baby and a loving husband. She told me this was the sixth time she came to Beijing to appeal for Teacher and Dafa. She used to have a job and later she was deprived of the right to work because of her unwillingness to give up practicing Falun Gong. The local government forced her to move out of her hometown while other regions would not take her as resident, so she simply kept the government documents, which would secure her residency, in her own hands. It turned out even better this way. No one was responsible for her and she was doing business with her relatives. The business was very lucrative. Normally, she could have earned 20,000 to 30,000 yuan a year [average yearly income for an urban Chinese worker is 6,000 yuan]. She told me that she would only do business for two or three months, just to get enough money to support her whole family. The rest of the time she spent appealing to the government and presenting the facts. She told that me under no conditions should a practitioner cooperate with the evil and that practitioners should go on hunger strike to protest. She said, "Usually after a few days of hunger strike, they may force feed you food against your will. Force-feeding is torture. Several people have to hold down one practitioner to conduct force-feeding. You should absolutely never cooperate with them. So long as you keep righteous thoughts, they will not be successful."
In the evening, it started to drizzle. We were thrown in a big bus and carried away. On the way, practitioner B was leading us in reciting Lunyu, and a paragraph from Falun Buddha Fa (Lecture at the Conference in Europe):
If you face death today--regardless of what form of death--and are completely fearless, if you aren't concerned about it whatsoever and think, "Perhaps I'll go to heaven after I die," then death will truly no longer take place. The key is a person's mind. Our Dafa cultivation aims exactly at one's mind--to practice cultivation is to cultivate the human mind. If your mind isn't changed, everything else you do means nothing. Outward acts mean nothing.
Sister Xie and Sister Wu were abducted together by the police. Sister Xie was in fact already in her 50s but looked very young. I thought she was just in her 30s. Sister Xie and Sister Wu were the two practitioners who unfurled a banner for the longest time that day on Tiananmen Square. The two managed to hold the banner for about twenty minutes, albeit amidst police officers' manhandling. Later, I had the predestined relationship to be detained in the same cell for four days with Sister Xie and heard her stories as well as those from other fellow practitioners.
This was their seventh appeal for Falun Gong in Beijing. The two unfurled banners in front of two foreign travelers that read, "Falun Dafa is good!" and "Restore our Teacher's good reputation!" The two foreign travelers gave them thumbs up after they saw such a brave act. Quickly their righteous shouts also caused the police to rush over, surround them, and try to take away their banners. They felt at that time that it was like a kid's game. The practitioners were just lightly holding up the banners but the police officers were trying so hard to deal with them in the winter weather that they were sweating all over. Even more interesting, because Sister Wu's voice was not loud by nature, the police officer who was dealing with her was even getting so nervous that he kept saying to her, "You need to shout louder, louder ??"
Sister Wu and her younger brother were both Dafa disciples. Her brother was abducted by local police officers just because he would not give up practicing Falun Gong. He was tied up and paraded through the local streets. In the process, his mouth was gagged and stayed that way the whole time.
There was another thin, female fellow practitioner in her 40s. Her husband was so angered at her practicing Falun Gong and not giving it up, that he poured boiling hot water from a pot onto her body. Under Teacher's protection, the practitioner said that after the boiling hot water ran over her, she not only did not feel the burning sensation but even felt a cooling effect.
The night when we were arrested, we were sent to different police stations in the suburbs of Beijing. The second night after we were sent to a jailhouse, something happened. Because Sister Xie and Sister Wu were abducted so many times, the jailhouse police recognized them and planned to have them taken back home by local police. When the time came for them to be taken away, they could not recognize Sister Wu. Then they asked us one by one who was Sister Wu. No one answered them. Later, one of them took hold of my hand and said that I must be the one. I did not respond. Then another officer said, "How could it be her? Wu was about 42 or 43 years old. She looks like she is so much younger." Another agent viciously answered, "No mistake, it is definitely her. Falun Gong practitioners all look young!"
Twenty days later I was sent to a hospital because of my severe physical condition after being on hunger strike. I was free again and away from my family members' watchful eyes after more than one month. I tried to contact local practitioners again, asking about Sister Liu and Sister Li. I was told that Sister Liu went to Tiananmen Square soon after I went there. Nothing had been heard about her since then. Sister Li's whole family also went to Beijing around New Year's Day with all four of them being abducted, including their 8-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son. Under threats from the police, the 11-year-old boy told them all about the family and pointed out who his parents were. Then Sister Li's whole family was taken back home. Their business was searched and all of the family's belongings were thrown into the street. They confiscated her 8,000-yuan savings certificate. Then Sister Li was sent back to her original rural hometown to be illegally detained. Her husband was sent to a labor camp and I lost touch with them. Besides them, there were a few other fellow practitioners, including two female college students who were practitioners. They were both detained because they went to Beijing to appeal. There has been no further news about them.
Today, when I look back at this piece of history, I am still touched by fellow practitioners' righteous actions and efforts, and encouraged by their determination and unshakable spirit from Dafa cultivation. I have not heard any news from other practitioners except that not long ago I read on the Internet that Sister Wu was illegally sentenced to four years in a labor camp and Sister Xie is still on the run and forced go without a home. Maybe they are still in detention, maybe they have already obtained freedom. But no matter where my fellow practitioners are now, here I would like to pay my highest respects to all of you!
I would like to extend my Heshi to all those who are diligently making progressing on their cultivation path during the Fa-rectification period.

Fellow Practitioners, Greetings!
It has not been easy for me to write this letter. Usually, there is no way Dafa practitioners here can communicate with the outside world. Because of this, the situation here has deteriorated and the arrangements of the old forces still exist. The evil and their followers that oppose the righteous Fa are still persecuting Dafa practitioners. However, the practitioners here can look at problems not as ordinary people. Though they have gone through tortuous paths, they have studied the Fa and they have elevated themselves quickly in the cultivation of their hearts. They also have written their solemn declarations to remain steadfast in their belief in Dafa and to staunchly defend the Fa. Many practitioners have conducted themselves extremely well here and truly can be called Teacher's students.
The important part of this letter is to brief you on the state of affairs here. For example, many practitioners, including Zhang Hongwei, Liu Zhaojian, Shi Guohong, Wang Zengwu, Wu Yifeng, Li Dehai, Bai Ye, Yang Feng, Lei Ming, Yang Huiyong and many whose names I don't know are being persecuted severely and are suffering inhuman torture. Such persecution is aimed at shaking the righteous belief of the Dafa practitioners. The criminal gang is headed by political committee member Liu Changjiang, assisted by Secretary Li Yongsheng, and convicts Wang Cheng, Li Ming and others.
Liu Zairian and Zhang Hongwei could hardly walk after being persecuted by the ruthless supervision section, which confined Zhang Hongwei for 58 days to a fixed bed meant for death row inmates. Shi Guohong was severely assaulted because he refused to write the "four letters" [Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. Created by the "610 Office," the statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners] when he was first sent to this prison. After Wu Goofing refused to write the "four letters," he likewise was sent to be dealt with by the brutal supervision unit. Li Doha wrote a solemn declaration and was confined to the fixed bed for a day and a half with his tongue badly bitten. Lei Ming refused to write the "four letters" and was beaten severely by the convict Wang Cheng for about an hour. Bai Ye was also confined to the fixed bed for 15 days. Instigated by Li Ming, a convict assaulted Liang Zhenxing. There are still a number of Dafa practitioners who are being persecuted and are being confined to so-called self-examination, and about seven or eight practitioners confined in the solitary confinement rooms charged with false evidence are being persecuted.
Please ask the practitioners in countries overseas to expose the evil here to the legal community and everyone else, and let the people know what they have done here. Dafa practitioners here will continue to validate the Fa, as always. We will walk our paths righteously, using our righteous thoughts and divine actions to reach the consummation of our great prehistoric vows.

(Clearwisdom.net) Before July 20, with strong righteous thoughts, a county in Heilongjiang Province successfully completed a large scale activity. Overnight Falun Dafa truth clarifying banners, flyers, and signs appeared all over the county and the twenty-seven to twenty-eight villages that surround it. Some of the written signs were: "Falun Dafa is good," "Falun Dafa is the Righteous Fa," "Global trial of Jiang Zemin" and many others. A 30-foot-long banner was hung across the main road of a village. This was the main road going into the county, so the visitors would spread the message in the county.
Under Teacher's compassionate care, with strong righteous thoughts Dafa practitioners were able to complete this large-scale truth clarifying activity. It was close to midnight before they were finished. Many people who witnessed the truth or heard about this incident were shocked and reacted in different ways. People are passing around the news that "Jiang Zemin is being tried." The local policemen have even been restrained in their viciousness.
A few days ago, a young Dafa practitioner made use of small speakers to clarify the truth. The speakers were hung in the treetops in more than 30 villages and broadcast regularly at set times. Every small loudspeaker can continuously broadcast the facts about the persecution of Falun Dafa for 3 to 4 hours. Through the practitioners' efforts, more and more local people now have learned the truth.

(Clearwisdom.net) In "Serious Teaching", Master said,
"Some people wanted to wait for Master to spell things out and tell everyone what to do and how to protect the Fa. They have waited for Master to spell things out and tell everyone to go to Beijing to validate the Fa, and for Master to tell them clearly that [they should] clarify the truth to people. Once I spell things out for them, however, what they do is no longer self-initiated and out of their own righteous thoughts. Once the answers are provided the test ends, and those afraid to step forward to validate the Fa forever lose their chance."
Master also said in "Suggestions",
"These people who only want to take from Dafa and not give for Dafa are, in the eyes of Gods, the worst beings. Moreover, this Fa is what's fundamental in the cosmos, so those people who are still unable to step forward today will be weeded out after this tribulation is over."
After studying "Serious Teaching" and "Suggestions", I understand that Teacher is actually waiting for the practitioners who stayed at home and never stepped forward. He is still giving them opportunities. To my knowledge, there is an appreciable difference between the number of practitioners who attained the Fa in the previous years and those who step forward to clarify the truth. It also takes time for the practitioners who went astray to come back and make up for the losses. Before the persecution started in 1999, there were 100 million practitioners. However, according to my estimation of our place, there might be a little more than half practitioners who really understand what the Fa-rectification is, who are clear about what a Dafa disciple should do at this critical moment, and who are really committed to the work they should do? If so, the practitioners who stepped forward should really help those lagging behind to improve their understanding of the Fa quickly.
Of course we cannot go out and look for the practitioners who do not step forward. However, we might help those within the circle of our acquaintance. We can think about why we come across practitioners who do not step forward and why we have contact with them. It cannot be accidental. Maybe they have some predestined relationship with us. Maybe they used to be family or friends of us in our previous lives. Or there might be other reasons. It is predestined that we should help them at this human level. At least we are all disciples of Master. When we found ourselves in trouble or difficulties, Master has again and again pulled us up from the ground. Our fellow practitioners also encouraged and helped us. Could there be any reason why we shouldn't encourage and help them? Therefore, we ought to give them a call, or try to communicate with them in other ways to help them improve. If possible, we should study the Fa with them. As long as we do what we can, Master will have many ways to solve their problems, as "cultivation depends on one's own efforts while the development of gong depends on Master." (Zhuan Falun) So we should be more active in helping those practitioners, caring for them and saving them.
In "Clearheadedness", Master said, "I often say that if all a person wants is the well-being of others and if this is without the slightest personal motivation or personal understanding, what he says will move the listener to tears. I have not only taught you Dafa, but have also left you my demeanor. While working, your tone of voice, your kindheartedness, and your reasoning can change a person's heart, whereas commands never could!"
Actually, the process of helping fellow practitioners is also a process of self-cultivation, during which one's own attachments will be revealed. To care for the practitioners' life and try to comfort them is the kindness on the human side, whereas the benevolence of the practitioners is something higher than the human level. Whenever we see the attachment of a fellow practitioner, we should point it out with benevolence as if it were our own attachments. That is the reflection of the kindness of a practitioner. I come to the understanding that when our fellow practitioners are interfered with by the evil and couldn't pass the test, or when they are under the visible or invisible persecution, it is time for us to support him and strengthen their righteous thoughts. We should help them to improve their understanding of the Fa rather than criticize them, leave them alone, use harsh language to hurt them, or talk behind their backs. I think we shouldn't have any thoughts of changing them or persuading them, or impose any bad thoughts or messages onto them either. For example, "Can they step forward?" "Will they listen to us?" We shouldn't have such thoughts before we start to help them. Our words carry energy. If we have bad thoughts, we actually produce barriers for the practitioners. We should encourage them and restore confidence in them.
When the practitioners are in trouble, it is just like what Master said in "Climbing Mountain Tai" in Hongyin, "Stopping in mid air, hard to be saved." If we can give them support and help them step out of the tribulation to clarify the truth and follow closely the process of the Fa-rectification, it is the greatest benevolence. Helping the practitioners might take up some of our time in Fa-study or clarifying the truth, but doing so is unselfish. If everyone can help other practitioners to step out from the restraint of human mentality and join our force together, how powerful that would be? How many sentient beings will be saved? Master said, "Compassion comes from a person's cultivation, and it's not something that's acted out; it comes from deep inside, and it's not something done to show others." (Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Washington DC Fa Conference)
Sometimes I feel that some practitioners have great benevolence when clarifying the truth to everyday people, but are indifferent toward fellow practitioners. Since Master has clearly stated in the Fa that we ought to save the sentient beings and clarify the truth, we are actively doing it. As for helping fellow practitioners, some might think it a waste of time. However, what we are practicing is Truth-Benevolence-Forbearance. Hence, we should have benevolence to all beings. We must form a whole body and make diligent progress together.
I think all we need to do is to help those practitioners realize what is Fa-rectification and what is a disciple during the Fa-rectification period. We cannot attach to the changes in their behavior so as not to produce invisible barriers for them. Rather, we should act as a medium, through which the benevolence of Dafa will manifest and create for them a good environment of understanding the Fa. In this way, we will help our fellow practitioners improve quickly.

Understanding and sympathizing with Dafa practitioners' situation, a restaurant owner hired a practitioner and later promoted her to be the manager of the main dining room because of her excellent performance. The police illegally arrested the practitioner and intended to send her to a detention center because of her appealing to the government in Beijing and persistence in practicing Dafa. The restaurant owner tried different means and paid ten thousand Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] for her release, then continued to employ her as the manager.
As the business expanded, another restaurant was opened and more employees were needed. The owner asked the practitioner to recommend a trustworthy person for the cashier position; he said that anyone she recommended would be good since he trusted her. She said, " I do not know others, but I can recommend another Dafa practitioner like myself to you." The owner simply answered, " Good! I trust you." Because of their endeavor in their duties and behaviors, these two practitioners validated both the strength of Dafa and that Dafa practitioners are good people. The owner told them, "I know Falun Gong practitioners are good people. Even though there are many people without a job and it's pretty easy for me to find people to fill these positions, but I can't trust them, not knowing their background; it's very difficult to find people like you who are both capable and honorable." Their clarifying the truth about Dafa and their work performance earned respect and admiration from their co-workers.
Not being fooled by the lies from Jiang's regime, the owner treated practitioners kindly. Several amazing things happened in his business. One of the most prominent examples was when SARS was rampant. Most of the restaurant businesses were in bleak situations, but his business was as good as usual, and he was frequently booked with large wedding banquets and birthday parties.
This owner's business has prospered and lately he signed a contract to run the restaurant for a large hotel. During his recent hiring, he told the practitioner plainly, "Please find people like yourself who practice Dafa to help manage my restaurant business."

Dear Prime Minister:
I am a Canadian citizen and a Falun Gong practitioner. I know you will be going to China soon.á
I would like to take this opportunity to urge you to address human rights and the persecution of
Falun Gong to Chinese leaders, urge the Chinese government to stop the
persecution, and to unconditionally release my younger brother and all the practitioners imprisoned
in Chinese forced-labour camps and detention centers.
I want to tell you about the persecution my brother suffers in China. My younger brother Jiangang
Huang had been a Telecommunications Engineer as well as Project Manager in a Chinese-Japanese joint
venture company in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. After July 1999, when the persecution began he was
repeatedly harassed by the police. He was illegally arrested four times. During the custody, he was
forced to wear shackles on his feet because he insisted on practicing the exercises and the
policemen on duty ordered the prisoners to beat him (their prison terms were shortened by doing
this). He was thrown in forced-labour camp for two years because he was committed to practicing
Falun Gong and believing in "Truth, Benevolence and Forbearance ".
Mental and physical torture is inflicted upon him daily. My brother's prison term ended on Dec. 15, 2002. However, when that was finished, he was transferred directly from the Labor Camp to a Brainwashing Center by the Nanjing 610 office and the police. The brainwashing camp has no time limit. As long as he refuses to renounce his belief in Truth-Benevolence-Forbearance, my brother is not allowed to go home.
It has been more than five months since he was locked up in an unknown place. He
continues to suffer immensely and his life is in great danger.
The Chinese Constitution clearly states that people have human rights, freedom of belief, speech,
association and assembly. My brother has never done anything illegal. What he has done is legal, and
he is innocent of any wrongdoing. The persecution of Falun
Gong has not only violated the Chinese Constitution but also International Human Rights Conventions.
I am very worried for my younger brother's safety. I am sure you understand my feelings at this
moment.
The Canadian Parliament unanimously adopted Resolution M236 in October 2002, which allows special
visas to be granted to persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in PRC
who have family members living in Canada. My brother Jiangang Huang is on the M236 rescue list.
Canada has done so much to support Falun Gong over the past three years.
The strong voice of condemnation against the atrocities has reduced the persecution faced by Falun Gong practitioners in China. It has resulted in the successful release and return to Canada of Professor Kunlun Zhang, Ms. Ying Zhu and Mr. Shenli Lin.
Most recently, the Canadian government has also successfully help to rescue several family
members of Canadian Falun Gong practitioners who were imprisoned in China.
I think you'll agree that my brother is suffering unjustly. I sincerely hope you will urge the
Chinese government to release him immediately to Canada, where he can recover, continue his career,
practice his beliefs freely, and contribute to society.
Your voice will once again uphold justice and the fundamental principles of humanity. Your intervention will contribute significantly towards ending this persecution. Your kindness and justice will be remembered and respected by all the world's people.

They introduced Falun Dafa and explained the facts of persecution in China to the students and teachers. The principal, teachers and about 180 students attended the event.

For visitors from Mainland China and other overseas Chinese people, it is a "must see" spot. Hoping to utilize this opportunity to clarify the facts about Dafa to more people, on the afternoon of October 10, the "Double-10 Festival", I went to the Palace Museum. The Palace Museum plaza was full of people from China and all over the world. They came from Hong Kong, Indonesia, the United States, Canada, Japan and Korea.

I started distributing newsletters and small bookmarks, hoping not to miss any predestined people. At around 3:30 pm, three fellow practitioners came to explain the facts to tourists. When I saw them, my heart was touched. Later, another three fellow practitioners came here as well.

Later in the plaza, five Dafa practitioners practiced the exercises. Many tourists took pictures of them while they were practicing. Another practitioner and I focused on talking to Chinese people and explained the facts to them. Some of them asked many questions, some expressed that they agreed with us, and some said that the Chinese government's persecution was ridiculous. The overall effect was very good.
Recently, I often went to the National Palace Museum to clarify the facts to the precious Chinese people. However, at that time, there was just myself. Because of some interference, I saw forty Chinese people leaving but was unable to explain the facts to them. That was a deep regret for me. This time, when I clarified the facts and introduced Dafa to tourists with fellow practitioners, when I listened to the exercise music, I felt that our efforts were again focused and effective. In the past, fellow practitioners often held large-scale activities to spread the Fa and clarify the facts to Mainland Chinese people. Tears filled my eyes. Let us encourage each other and sincerely keep Master's words in our hearts, "Lose no time and save them, hurry up and tell them" (Teacher's poem: Hurry Up And Tell Them), and walk the last leg of the journey well in the process of Fa-rectification.
(Clearwisdom.net, October 19, 2003) On October 15, invited by Professor Wolbrink from the Department of History of Drury University, Falun Dafa practitioners from St. Louis, Missouri held a seminar about Falun Gong for the students in the Department of History.
Drury University is located in the city of Springfield, Missouri. Professor Wolbrink was deeply impressed when she saw Falun Dafa practitioners in the procession of the July 4th Independence Day Parade. She has been very concerned about the persecution of Falun Gong and invited us to hold a seminar for her students.
During the one-hour seminar, we introduced Falun Gong and demonstrated the exercises. We also played a video program about the persecution. A Dafa practitioner who had been unlawfully imprisoned in a forced labor camp in China related her personal experiences to illustrate the ongoing persecution t in China. The students asked many questions and took materials to learn more. After the seminar, there was an open discussion session during lunchtime. Some people stayed to learn the Falun Gong exercises. Some people who were unable to attend the seminar also came to get information. Another professor of history who was not able to attend our seminar came to ask for our contact information and hoped that we could hold another seminar for her class.
Representatives of a local non-governmental organization, "Peace Network of the Ozarks" also came to attend our seminar. They expressed their appreciation to Falun Gong practitioners for their persistent effort in stopping the persecution. Before they left, they took many truth-clarifying materials and said that they would distribute them to more people.
A major local newspaper was informed about our seminar a day before. A reporter called us to learn more about it. On that day, on the front page, the newspaper reported the news about our seminar and the information about the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
(Clearwisdom.net, October 19, 2 003) On the 15th of October in Madrid, Spanish Falun Gong practitioners filed a lawsuit against the former Chinese president Jiang Zemin at a Spanish court, accusing him of persecuting Falun Gong.
Reuters reported that the Spanish legal system gives a Spanish judge the power to become involved with and listen to any action against human rights violators. The plaintiffs are relying on this to prosecute Jiang Zemin.

Wish To Share Peace With All The Children Around The World: Ms. Dai Zhizhen joined a "Petals of Peace" activity in front of the Chinese Consulate in Melbourne, and our reporter interviewed her.
According to Ms. Dai, the first stop of the "Petals of Peace" activity was Melbourne, and she taught children how to fold paper lotus flowers. She now travels around the world to clarify the facts about Falun Gong, because in China there are still tens of thousands of children who suffer the pain from broken families and losing relatives just like her daughter did. Ms. Dai said that the lotus flower represents peace, and that they wish to share the peace with all the children and adults around the world.
An Open Letter to the Overseas Chinese from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG): The persecution of tens of millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China is solely Jiang Zemin's personal doing, and the "610 Office" established under Jiang's instruction became the executive unit and persecution tool to carry out his personal orders. Investigation shows that as a result of persecuting Falun Gong, Jiang directly obtained financial benefit for himself and his family, and WOIPFG will thoroughly investigate and track down the state funds that Jiang's family illegally appropriated, including their trade activities worldwide. Facts of the Persecution
The persecution perpetrated by policemen at Xinhua Forced Labor Camp, Mianyang, Sichuan Province
Deng Gang, the Vice Director of Administration, tortured Falun Gong practitioner Li Xinze to death. Fu Weidong, a vice brigade head, spared no efforts in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Zhao Yu, who also tortured a detainee to death, is in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
The common tortures they use on Falun Gong practitioners include enforced silence, sleep deprivation, beatings and verbal abuse, heavy labor, whipping, beating with police batons, shocking with electric batons, etc.
A policeman shocked Lu Zhiyong's tongue with an electric baton, and shocked Wang Renwei's scrotum for hours. The teeth of 60-year-old practitioner Luo Qingsheng were knocked out.

There are tall buildings all over Singapore. If we deposit the truth clarification material into the mailboxes located in the basement of those buildings, those precious materials might very possibly be discarded. So we decided to deliver the truth material to the front door of each apartment.
After we told the facts about Falun Gong to an elderly gentleman and handed him a copy of Zhuan Falun, he held the book in both hands and exclaimed: "This is what I've been looking for." Then he continued while pointing to the sky with his hand: "The Teacher of Falun Gong came to save human beings with great mercy."
Another elderly gentleman didn't know the truth at the beginning. When he heard us talk about Falun Gong, he started to swear. While sending forth righteous thoughts, we continued to tell him the facts. Finally, he changed his mind about Falun Gong. He was very pleased when we sent him the audiotapes of Teacher's lectures the following day.

2. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Imprisoned Practitioners Go On Hunger Strike
Recently two practitioners were sentenced to jail:
Ms. Tang Qingying, 50, was sentenced to seven and a half years in jail.
Ms. Xiao Guiying, 50, was sentenced to eight years in jail.
Falun Gong practitioners from the Hecheng area, Huaihua City were sentenced to jail and are presently detained in the No. 1 and No. 2 Detention Centers. They are Mr. Chen Kaiming, Mr. Yang Xiaohui, Ms. Zheng Hongxia, Ms. Xiang Zaoxia, Ms. Tang Qingying, Ms. Xiao Guiying, Mr. Pan Jianjun and Mr. Li Shirong. They are currently holding a group hunger strike to protest the persecution.
3. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Clarify the Truth via Colorful Flags, Lanterns and Windmills
On the eve of National Day, October 1, in the parks of Haicheng City, a lot of colorful flags with the words "Falun Dafa is good" appeared in fields and near ponds. Policemen were angry and assigned a lot of people to investigate. The small flags disappeared. However many paper lanterns showed up in the streets and lanes. The beautiful lanterns had a short truth-clarifying message written on them, and became a hot topic of conversation in the area. The authorities had the streets blocked, and the lanterns disappeared, but paper windmills showed up in a nearby suburb. At one end of the windmill was a wheel and at the other end was a small scroll with the words "Falun Dafa is good" and "Jiang has been sued in many countries."
4. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Chen Chujun Disappears
Falun Gong practitioner Chen Chujun, 30, has a bachelor's degree and is an employee of the Huaihua Railway Southern Station. She went to appeal in Beijing many times and was detained and sent to Baimalong Labor Camp, where she was injected with drugs that damaged the central nervous system. In March 2003, she was sentenced to three years in jail by the Railway Transportation Court. She held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. We think that she will not be sent to jail right away because she is in critical condition. The related departments have blocked this news from the public. Her current status is unknown.
5. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Xu Dawei Tortured
Dafa practitioner Mr. Xu Dawei, 30, was recently sentenced to 8 years in jail because he made and distributed truth-clarifying flyers in 2001. He was detained in the No. 1 Jail of Lingyuan City. In the jail, Xu Dawei hung truth clarifying banners, and suffered severe persecution. He was cuffed with hands behind the back for several days, was electrically shocked by Liu, and as a result he had symptoms of chest pain and a rapid heart beat.
6. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Sui Yanzhang Is Arrested
Dafa practitioner Mr. Sui Yanzhang lives in Lushuihe, Jilin province. On September 9, 2003, while posting truth-clarifying flyers, he was arrested by Erdao Baihe, a Forestry Police Branch Officer. It is said that he will be sent to Changchun.
7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Xu Xiuying and Wang Qiaosheng Were Arrested
On September 21, 2003, policemen arrested Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Xu Xiuying and Mr. Wang Qiaosheng while they posted truth-clarifying materials. Their detention site is unknown.
8. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Li Guangying Was Harassed and Persecuted
Because Ms. Li Guangying insisted on her belief in Falun Dafa and the principles of "Truth, Compassion, and Tolerance," she was persecuted in a variety of ways by her work unit at the Daqing Petroleum Management Bureau. Li's pension was cut off in September. The work unit did not give any reasons. During National Day, the work unit gave 200 Yuan to each retired employee, but Li's money was withheld . In addition, Li's husband Wang Yuanchang was harassed by his work unit. Since Li Guangying refused to write or sign transformation documents, her work unit had her husband sign them for her.

9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] The Xindu Electric Company Threatened Falun Gong Practitioners' Family Members
Security Officers Jie Zhengya and Liu Yizhong, from the Xindu Electrician Company, monitor Falun Gong practitioners and try to force them to write "guarantee letters." If Falun Gong practitioners refuse, they coerce the practitioners using threats of terminating the employment of their children. They forced the family members to write a letter on behalf of the practitioners, and did their best to force the family members to live in a state of panic and fear.

10. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Several Practitioners Are Sentenced to Jail
According to news from Zhanjiang City, in the last few months the evil there intensified the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Dozens of practitioners were identified from the internet and were arrested. Many of them were sentenced to jail terms as long as 8 years. Some practitioners were arrested and taken to brainwashing classes. The steadfast practitioners were sent to the Sanshui Labor Camp.
11. [Northeast China] Falun Gong Practitioners Hold a Small Scale Fa Conference
On October 3, 2003 Dafa practitioners in a Northeast China city successfully held a small scale Fa conference. About 20 practitioners making truth-clarifying materials took part in the activities. They chose a bad place unintentionally, located right above a police branch office. Practitioners studied "Essentials for Further Advancement" earnestly. Everyone looked inside themselves and sent righteous thoughts at intervals. A whole day passed by quickly. In the evening while they were leaving, they saw that police were searching rooms of the building, but all of the practitioners returned home safely. We saw the importance of studying the Fa and keeping righteous thoughts. At the beginning it seemed we chose a bad place, but we purified our minds, studied the Fa, and kept a righteous state of Dafa disciples. As a result, the result was good and we were in no danger.

Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again.
