Former Political Section Chief of Liaozhong County Police Department Is Tortured to Death

The Falun Dafa Information Center reported on September 1 that news from China verified the torturing to death of Han Qingcai, former Political Section Chief of Liaozhong County Police Department in Liaoning Province.

Mr. Han Qingcai, 62 years old, went to Beijing to appeal in 2001. As a result, he was sentenced to three years in prison and jailed at the Liaozhong County Prison. While in detention, he was severely tortured. On August 8, 2003, he was released to his home only after he was near death. He died on August 19, 2003, eleven days after his return home.

A policeman from the police department (Phone: 86-24-8788-1647) claimed that Han Qingcai was released on medical parole on August 8, and that he died on August 19 of hepatocirrhosis.
