Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Dianzhong was a laid-off employee of Ningjin County's No.6 Oil Fabric Factory. In July 2003, personnel at the Zhangqiu Forced Labor Camp tortured him to death. Detailed information is to be further investigated.

In the morning of August 12, a loudspeaker in a building across the police department and the City Court suddenly started to broadcast Dafa truth-clarifying information. People living nearby and Dafa practitioners held in the detention center all heard it. The broadcast lasted nearly one hour. At the same time, a speaker installed in a residential building on this city's pedestrian street was also broadcasting. People who were shopping and walking all gathered around to hear. It's said that a local police patrol car and policemen from the precinct arrived in short order. They stared at scene but were at a loss of what to do. The broadcast lasted more than one hour.

Dafa practitioner Mr. Shao Kailin, age 62, comes from the Wuchang District, Wuhan City. He lives at Sanguandian, Donghu Road, Shuiguohu Street. On around September 14, he was reported to police while distributing truth-clarifying materials, and was later arrested by a policeman who was following him. Mr. Shao is now being held at the notorious Qingling Detention Center where he is being tortured. Now the policemen from the No.2 Shuiguohu Police Station are attempting to send Shao Kailin to forced labor. He has been tortured into an extremely weak state and is running a high fever.

Mr. Bi Bo from Daqing City graduated from Harbin Industrial University in 1999. He was arrested in July 2003 while posting some truth-clarifying flyers and was sentenced to one year of forced labor. Bi Bo has not only a high moral standard but also excellent academic achievements. He had passed the entrance exam to enter a Masters Degree studies program in Engineering. Since he was in detention and unable to attend the university, he can't be admitted. Even if he did performed excellently during the admissions interview, if the university knew that he is a Dafa practitioner, it would be unlikely they would admit him under pressure to conform to the Jiang Regime directives, even though such a policy doesn't comply with any law in China.

On October 10, 2003, personnel from Laiyang City "610 Office" * and Laiyang City's National Security Team in Hunan Province arrested practitioners Mr. Xie Huijun, Ms. Long Lianying, Ms. Li Ying and another practitioner when they were clarifying the truth to the public.

*610 Office": an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

One day in August, practitioners hung a speaker broadcasting Dafa truth-clarifying materials on a tree at a "ghost market (slang name)" in Buhai Township/Dehui City. The city is located close to National Highway No. 102. Many business people come to the market from other places. At 10:00 a.m. the high voltage speaker started broadcasting. The sound covered the entire market and spread far away. Many people started a discussion after hearing the truth.

Because someone reported this incident, police officials from Buhai Township arrested Mr. Pu Xiangji who had come to the city for work. Without any evidence, the police claimed Mr. Pu did the broadcasting. He was beaten to obtain a confession at the police station . The brutal abuse left him unable to walk and Pu was illegally detained on the second day. To protest the torture and illegal detention, Pu went on a hunger strike. When Pu's 60- year-old mother heard her son was innocently arrested, she frequently went to the police office to ask for the release of her son. After half a month detention, Pu, escaped from the detention center, using his righteous thoughts.

During the "Two Conferences," * practitioner Ms. Song from Changchun City/Jilin Province was reported to the police by a person who erred and did something against their conscience. Ms. Song's home was ransacked and her money and personal property were confiscated. She was taken away, detained and then sentenced to a year of forced labor and is presently being detained at the Heizuizi Labor Camp. Her disabled husband is left at home without care.

Practitioner Mr. Shang Wenling, 40 years old, is from Fengjiazhuang, Xuzhuang Township, Jizhou City, Hebei Province. On May 20, 2000 he went to appeal for Falun Gong and was subsequently sentenced to three years of forced labor. Since July 20, 1999, the local government has often beaten, detained, and fined him and his family. Their house was ransacked and all valuable property was taken away. At the beginning of 2003, because of jealousy, another person reported him to the police, saying he distributed Dafa truth materials. Mr. Shang was forced to wander away from home to avoid the persecution. At 12:00 a.m. on September 12, the Day of the Moon Festival, local police officers used a ladder, climbed into Shang's home and arrested him. When Shang's family members asked, "Why do you arrest him?" the police did not answer but beat his family members. Dafa practitioner Shang is now being held at the city's detention center.

During the night of September 24, 2003, Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Xinhua, living in the Ganghua Residential Area/ Dadong District/ Shenyang City/ Liaoning Province, was tracked. Someone followed him home because he had refused to write a "guarantee statement" [guarantee not to practice Falun Gong again; promising never to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and never again associate with other Dafa practitioners]. At 9:30 p.m. police precinct officials sent a "110" police car to her home. Personnel from the Dongzhan Office and over a dozen people from the street administrative office also arrived. Zhang Xinhua didn't open the door. These officers waited downstairs overnight. They forcibly took Zhang Xinhua away from her home at 6:30 a.m. the next morning without producing any warrant and sent her directly to a brainwashing class in the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp.

It was reported that the authorities in Fushun City/Liaoning Province sent some poor people who live on the lowest public assistance fee to the Luotai Resort Brainwashing Center. The brainwashing center provided accommodations for them and ordered them to act as Falun Gong practitioners who renounced their belief and had given up Falun Gong practice due to brainwashing. The officials could claim to their superiors they met their quota and reap rewards as a result. Those innocent people ignorantly cooperated with the brainwashing center to do whatever was being required.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Gao Aihua, about 38 years old, lives in the Qiaokou District/Wuhan City/Hubei Province. One day in September 2003, she went out but has not came back since then. It seems that police have already arrested her. Even now her family does not know her whereabouts. Furthermore, lawless policemen threatened her family and they dared not to inquire where Gao is.

Some Dafa practitioners are still detained at Hailun County Custodial and Detention Center in Heilongjiang Province. When they went on a hunger strike to protest this illegal detention they were sent to the county hospital for force-feeding. Some have become extremely weak from torture, but personnel from the Political and Security Section and from the "610 Office" still take turns monitoring them. Ms. Guo Liming, has been tortured on three occasions. They sentenced her to nine years of imprisonment. The Hailun City authorities also often hold brainwashing class to persecute Dafa practitioners.
