Proclamation
Whereas, the United States of America was founded on the principle that
individuals are entitled to the free exercise of speech and religion; and
Whereas, more than 2000 people from around the world will gather in
Houston on October 11-12, 2003, to celebrate the 7th anniversary of
the teaching of Falun Dafa; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, seeks to improve health
through five sets of gentle exercises and to upgrade moral standards through the
teachings of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance"; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa, since its public introduction, has grown to become
one of the most popular forms of qigong and distinguishes itself from other
qigong practices by emphasizing not only physical cultivation, but also
cultivation of one's moral character in daily life: now, therefore
J. Robert Eckels, Country Judge of Harris County, Texas, hereby recognize
the
Falun Dafa Celebration
in Harris County, Texas, and extend a sincere welcome to all visitors
attending these commemorative activities.
