Ms. Li Aixiu, Resident of Fengshang Village of Shuiji Town of Laixi City Suffers Illegal Detention By the "610 Office"
On the evening of August 9, 2003, Ms. Li Aixiu was caught when posting truth-clarifying banners. She finally went back home safely with her righteous thoughts later that night. On the morning of August 10, she was forcibly taken away by the "610 Office" and sent to a brainwashing center located in Yinzhuang Village of Wang Town of Laixi City. Li went on a hunger strike without water for 7 days protesting her illegal detention. When her life was found to be in extreme danger, she was sent to another brainwashing center in Qingdao City, Shandong Province.

Ms. Gong Yuping Was Sent to the Qingdao City Brainwashing Center and Has Not Returned Home Since
On May 26, 2003, Gong Yuping was taken away from her home by officers from the Jiangshan Police Station and was sent to the Laixi City Brainwashing Center for 10 days. She kept her firm belief in Falun Dafa and returned home with her righteous thoughts. On August 28, 2003, six policemen took her away while she was working in fields. At that time she was still wearing shorts without socks. She was then sent to the Qingdao City Brainwashing Center and has not returned home since.

Ms. Su Guifang's Experience in Laixi City Brainwashing Center
Practitioner Su Guifang, 41 years old, was illegally detained by the Xiagezhuang Police Station, and suffered financial penalties and confiscation of personal belongings many times since July 20 1999, because of her peaceful appeals for Falun Gong. On May 26, 2003, the Xiagezhuang Township government and the police station took her away from her home and attempted to force her into writing a "giving up Falun Gong" statement. Because she firmly refused to cooperate with them, they sent her to the Laixi Brainwashing Center. There, she was monitored 24 hours a day. She went on a hunger strike to protest their persecution of her. As a result, the officers in the center cuffed her hands to bed frames or the iron bars on the windows and forced her to sit on the ground. Some collaborators [former Falun Dafa practitioner who has given up his practice under severe pressure and torture and now assists the authorities in the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners] also tried to force her into writing three types of "giving up the practice of Falun Gong" statements. When Su firmly refused their orders, they started beating and cursing her. After she had been on a hunger strike for 20 days protesting their barbarous tortures, her health had severely declined. They did not want to release her but did so after they obtained news that her father passed away. Even now the Brainwashing Center still does not want to return her personal articles for daily use and other personal belongings.
