Resolution of Falun Dafa Day in Texas from Texas State Representative Garnet Coleman

Whereas, Falun Dafa is a system of exercise and teachings rooted in ancient Chinese culture that seeks to reduce stress and improve health, the practice of Falun Dafa refines the body and transforms the mind and spirit; and

Whereas, From October 10 to October 12, 2003, and expected 2,000 Falun Dafa practitioners from across Texas and around the world will gather in Houston to participate in an Experience-Sharing Conference and to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa to the United States; and

Whereas, Mr. Li Hongzhi; the founder of Falun Dafa, introduced this exercise and meditation practice to the public in China in 1992; since then, the program has transcended cultural and national boundaries, attracting more than 100 million people in more than 60 countries; and

Whereas, Since starting the revolutionary practice, Texans who adhere to the Falun Dafa system have experienced tremendous improvement in physical and mental health, as well as in spiritual growth and quality of life; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That October 12, 2003, be recognized as Falun Dafa Day in Texas and that best wishes be extended to all who are participating in this conference.
