Taiwan: Lin Tsiao-Kai's Wife Chen Shu-Ya Sends Petition Letter to the President (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net, October 26, 2003) On October 23, 2003, the First National
Maliba Hunting Memorial Activity sponsored by the Pingdong County government was
held in the Lion Village. President Chen Shui-pian and Vice President Lu Hsiu-lien
were invited to attend the opening ceremony. Falun Dafa practitioners from
Pingdong and Kaohsiung area unfurled a banner that read, "Pingdong Falun
Gong Practitioners Welcome Our Visitors" to welcome the President, Vice
President and the guests.
Dafa practitioners also displayed a big poster with the words, "Urgently
Rescue Taiwanese Falun Gong Practitioner Lin Hsiao-kai" and explained to
government officials and people who attended the ceremony about how Taiwanese
Falun Gong practitioner Lin Hsiao-kai was unlawfully detained by the Shanghai
national security bureau. Practitioners hoped the officials would try their best
to rescue the Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioner. This allowed the Taiwanese
people to understand more about the human rights violations in Mainland China.
Mr. Lin Hsiao-kai's wife Ms. Chen Shu-ya came to attend the activity and
accepted media interviews. Other practitioners clarified the truth in the crowd.
Some attendees took pictures, some expressed their encouragement to us, and some
wanted to learn more about Falun Gong. The Dafa practitioners' peaceful demeanor
left a good impression with the policemen on duty, who also showed their support
for us by giving us their thumbs-up.
Ms. Chen Shu-ya petitioned the President for help with a letter. Director of
the President's Internal Affairs Office Mr. Tzeng Tian-thyh met with Ms. Chen
and other practitioners. Director Tzeng suggested that Ms. Chen should also seek
support from International non-governmental human rights organizations and work
together to rescue Lin Hsiao-kai.
