Being Educated or Not Isn't the Key

(Clearwisdom.net) I used to be critical of elderly and less educated practitioners. One practitioner told me about some events that she saw when she was in prison.

1) An elderly lady who came to Beijing to validate Dafa refused to sign the so-called "guarantee statement" [A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.] At the Beijing Labor Re-education Dispatch Office, policemen headed by Fu Wenqi forced the old lady to put her fingerprints on the statement. Because the policemen outnumbered the old lady, she was not their match and was forced to put her fingerprints on the statement. At the time the old lady shouted with all her strength, "Heaven knows the truth!" The old lady's face showed pain and helplessness. (The so-called "reform rate" quoted by the authorities has been largely achieved by force.)

B) Another old lady who also came from another part of China to Beijing refused to be "reformed". The prison guards punished her by forcing her to squat for a long time. They also asked a female inmate to push the old lady's head downward. After the prison guards left, the female inmate said to the old lady, "Raise your head and have a rest." The old lady replied calmly, "I can bear it. Don't let them punish you because of me. This is nothing. Murder is the worst they could do, and I have already prepared for it.

I listened to the stories with tears in my eyes and I was speechless. For a long time, my deep-rooted human concept, which was acquired, disappeared instantly in front of the two "uneducated" old ladies stories. Compared with them I still have a long way to go in my cultivation and I understood that the extent to which someone's Xinxing is able to assimilate Dafa is really the key. Everything of the everyday people is on the surface and Buddha will "ignore superficial formalities and only looks at one's heart".
