San Francisco: Practitioners Appeal at the Chinese Consulate for the Release of Illegally Detained Falun Gong Practitioners in Jilin Province (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) At 7:00 p.m. on October 28, 2003, San Francisco Falun Gong practitioners gathered outside the Chinese Consulate to hold a candlelight vigil. They sent forth powerful righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil in other dimensions that persecute Dafa practitioners in China, and support Falun Gong practitioners who are on hunger strikes against the persecution they are suffering in Jilin Province. They also requested an immediate release of illegally detained practitioners in Jilin Province, and urged the Chinese government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

It was reported that more than 100 Falun Gong practitioners are being held in Jilin Prison, and most of them are undertaking a hunger strike to protest the ongoing severe torture by prison guards there. The current situation is critical, and one of them, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Chengjun from Changchun City has been confirmed to be on the verge of death as a result of torture he received.

Lu Hui, a Falun Gong practitioner participating in this peaceful appeal said, "We come here to let more people learn about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, and call upon people with conscience to send out their righteous voices to stop the brutal persecution." He continued, "I think these appeals are very important. Taiwan practitioner Mr. Lin Hsiao-kai went to travel in China recently and was illegally detained. Because practitioners and kind-hearted people in society peacefully appealed and exposed Jiang regime's using lies and deceptions to cover up its violation of basic human rights, and its persecution of kind people and Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners have gained support from all walks of life and exerted great pressure on the Chinese government. Mr. Lin Hsiao-kai was safely returned to Taiwan on the 27^th. "

Charles Li's fiancée Yeong-Ching Foo expressed that Mr. Liu Chengjun used cable TV signals to tell the Chinese people the facts about Falun Gong, and to expose that fact that Jiang's regime fabricated the self-immolation incident on Tiananmen Square to slander Falun Gong.

Since March, Mr. Liu Chengjun has been illegally held in prison where he has been subjected to tortureuntil he almost died. Charles Li was also illegally arrested at the beginning of this year for planning to broadcast the truth about Falun Gong through tapping TV signals in China, and he has been suffering all kinds of torture and abuse in jail. These Falun Gong practitioners let go of their comfort lives and risk their lives. Whatever they do, whether tapping TV signals or unfurling banners, are all righteous. All the efforts they put are to let the Chinese people see through the nature of Jiang's fabrications and propaganda against peaceful and innocent people.

Through sharing, practitioners understood that practitioners in and outside China are one body. When practitioners in China suffer severe persecution in labor camps, we should send righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil in other dimensions that persecute these practitioners, and completely clear up these behind-the-scenes-helpers the old forces arranged to persecute Dafa.
