A Story from the Persecution: TV Station Reports a Good Deed Done by a Falun Gong Practitioner, Yet Dares Not Mention Falun Gong
(Clearwisdom.net) I heard people in my workplace talking about a piece of
news: Some one was killed in a hit and run accident, but the driver escaped.
They commented: "There are so few good people these days." This
reminded me of an event that happened several years ago when the persecution of
Falun Gong had just started. I shared the story with my colleagues. One winter, an elderly woman slipped on the ice from her bike and could not
get up. No one came to help, although she cried for half an hour. Then a
middle-aged woman came along and called a taxi to carry the woman to the
hospital. She also helped pay for the woman's hospital treatment and contacted
her family. A TV station sent a reporter to interview her, and he asked:
"Why did you step out when others wouldn't? Weren't you afraid that she
might frame you, claiming you caused her to fall and thus extort money from
you?" The middle-aged woman answered: "I am a Falun Gong practitioner.
All we do is for the benefit of others. Even if I were falsely accused, I would
just treat it as if I had owed her in the past." The TV reported the event
but cut out the content about Falun Gong. A listener chipped in: "I don't believe the Dafa practitioner would want
to mention Falun Gong during an interview because it happened at a time when the
authorities were persecuting Falun Gong." I told him: "That elderly
woman is the younger sister of Mr. C downstairs. He doesn't practice Falun Gong,
but he told us of his sister's encounter and he watched the TV report." |
