Non-practitioner from China: Friend, Let Me Tell You From My Heart

China is a great, civilized nation with a long history, and plays an important role in this world. But since 1999, the outset of Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Gong, the world has changed its opinion of China.

At that time, I was a fourth year college student. I knew that one of my family members practiced Falun Gong. It was he who told me that Falun Gong teaches people to be good and requires its adherents to follow in all they do the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance." This surprised me somehow, because all I heard and learned about qigong practices when watching TV or movies were related to power or martial arts.

However, Falun Gong is different as it mainly intends to teach people to be virtuous. Understanding this, I thought to myself if all people, with the exception of those who do not want to be good, practice this Gong, it could spread all over China or even world-wide.

At that time, I had the urge to practice it, but I just could not make myself go through with it. I have come to regret that I did not start at that time to practice it. I am also feeling deep sorrow for the people who like me, did not begin the practice. From now on, I will cultivate myself diligently and become a better person.

Just when I came closer and more ready to start to practice, Jiang Zemin began to persecute Falun Gong throughout the country. It also foretold that he objected to Chinese people becoming better people.

My heart was filled with these questions: why does he want to persecute? Was he afraid to lose power? Was it because he did not understand Falun Gong? I was hoping that his mind could be changed. Yet, the thought that he would not change his wrongful thinking did not enter my mind right away.

He framed and slandered Falun Gong. He staged the self-immolation incident to malign Falun Gong and to insult the dignity and worth of the Chinese people. Such incidents fueled the persecution and the horrible treatment of Falun Gong practitioners, including the rape of female Falun Gong practitioners. The cases are countless.

In spite of everything, practitioners still persevere and retain their integrity. Such spirit should warrant everyone's admiration--especially as this spirit, which is based on being considerate of others when doing anything motivates the behavior of every Falun Gong practitioner.

My family member (who practices Falun Gong) uses his own funds to support poor students and spends his time working with and tutoring students. His strong belief in "Truth Compassion Tolerance" is more worth than all of our education.

All this is the truth and I hope that people worldwide are not fooled by Jiang Zemin's antics. Come to think of it, most of it has been exposed. Honestly, I want to mention here that government officials should give credit to the people, should have people's interest at heart, and should not offend people's dignity out of selfishness.

People from many countries worldwide are practicing Falun Gong and they are not being persecuted. Only China insists on persecution.

Falun Gong is good and Falun Dafa makes innumerable contributions to humankind. Humankind needs "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance".

Lastly, I want to say to my dear friends, "Falun Dafa is good!" We should believe in Dafa, support Dafa, and safeguard justice in the human world. In addition, I want to say to Dafa practitioners, "You have unwaveringly walked through hardships. People will not forget, and history will not forget".
