On the streets in a southwestern Chinese city, people often pass along materials that clarify the facts about Falun Gong. People have claimed that they are getting more and more interested in reading these truth-clarifying materials, since they tell the facts, and appeal to people's aspiration for what is good. On the contrary, the Chinese Central Television, especially the "focal points for discussion" program, throws people into the mood of hatred, horror, and confusion. It makes you feel that the anchors are going to push you into a tomb without giving you any warning.

Ms. Chen Yinghua is 30 years old and lives in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. She was unlawfully detained by the Jiaxing City Police Department on August 8, 2003 for practicing Falun Gong and clarifying the facts of the persecution. On September 15, she was formally arrested. Ms. Chen is being held in the Jiaxing City Police Department's detention center. In order to regain freedom, Ms. Chen has been on a hunger strike since September 18. Her life is in imminent danger.

Since the first few days of this fall, the Guizhou Province "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] and its subordinate "610 Offices" have secretly planned on a new round of persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners across the province. The plan is to abduct Falun Dafa practitioners one way or another to the Lannigou Brainwashing Class in the Huaxi area. The following schemes have been crafted: 1. The "610 Office" of an individual company or organization forces Falun Dafa practitioners to write the "Three Statements" denouncing Falun Gong. This applies to anyone currently employed and those who have retired or resigned. 2. They pretended to ask Falun Dafa practitioners to come to pick up the part of their salary that was previously held by their employers and then arrested and sent them to brainwashing centers. 3. Those about to retire have to sign the "Three Statements;" otherwise they will face abduction to the brainwashing facility. 4. Send out people to stake out and carry out secret arrests. 5. Suspend salaries of those who have escaped arrest to cut off their source of income. Because of this persecution, a large number of Falun Dafa practitioners have been forced to leave their homes to avoid further persecution and have no place to stay.

It has been learned that the Changchun City Police Department conducted an all-out campaign to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners on August 25. Homes of Falun Gong practitioners on the list were ransacked. If any Falun Dafa books or other materials were found, the practitioner was placed under immediate arrest and sent to the forced labor camp. In recent review, the Chaoyang Division of the Police Department scored the highest in arresting Falun Dafa practitioners. Presently the Kuancheng Division of the Police Department is to obtain information from the Chaoyang Division and start to thoroughly screen Falun Dafa practitioners, including those who have already been forced to leave their homes.

Officials in Panjin City and the Liaohe Oil Fields started sending Falun Gong practitioners to the brainwashing facility in Fushun City in July. The current session is the third being held. Recently authorities have increased the police force in individual residential complexes, which in fact is to further target Falun Dafa practitioners.

Ms. Zhao Fengyin lives at Xiaolingli in Guta District. She was abducted by the police on September 6 while distributing truth-clarifying materials. No further information about her is available.

On September 16, 2003, Falun Dafa practitioners Zhang Liangjing and his mother were taken away by officers from the Dongliuchun Township Police Station. Mr. Zhang and his mother are residents at the Xiliuchun Brigade in Dongliuchun Township in Dingzhou City, Baoding. Mr. Zhang's mother broke away from the police custody with honor and dignity in 2003. Mr. Zhang Liangjing was transferred to the Baoding Forced Labor Camp.

Employees of the Panjin City Fertilizer Factory were dissatisfied with the withholding of salary while the leaders of the factory squandered away public money. They unfurled banners and took to the street in protest. The police beat and arrested leaders of the protest. The authorities then framed Falun Gong for organizing the protest, but no one believed them. Not long ago another state-run company, the No. 9 China Chemical Engineering Construction Company, laid off its employees. Those who had been laid off were unhappy about the low compensation. They took to the street and held up signs condemning corruption. The riot police pushed the protesters at major intersections in downtown area. The authorities then framed Falun Gong for the violence. Those who know the truth spread the word that it was the police who broke some protesters' ribs. The public came to know that what Falun Gong practitioners said in their leaflets is all true and started to spread the truth about the contents of those leaflets.

The head of the education section in a forced labor camp stated straight-forwardly in a meeting, "Those of you who are Falun Gong practitioners, no matter what torture you went through, you have remained steadfast in your faith. I admire you."

Zhou Lin was distributing materials clarifying the facts of lawsuits against Jiang three months ago. Informants who did not know about the truth of Falun Gong tipped off the police. Zhou Lin has now been unlawfully sentenced to two years in prison.

Mr. Cui Zhongwu was turned in to the police by those who enlightened along the evil path in 2002. The police abducted him on his way from work and sentenced him to one year of forced labor education. Mr. Cui is currently being held in the Tiebei Prison for persecution.

On the morning of September 24, 2003, a group sent in from the Properties Company of the Daqing Petroleum Administration arrived at Mr. Li Guangying's home. They unlawfully took him to the Hongweixing Brainwashing Center for persecution. Details are still under investigation.

In early August, Falun Dafa practitioners Ma Jiancheng and his wife Wang Qiuju went out to distribute leaflets that clarified the facts about Falun Gong. Mr. Ma was unlawfully detained for half a month. During his detention, Ma Shujun, chief of the Political Security Section of the Shangjie District, put handcuffs and shackles on Ma Jiancheng and forced him to drink two buckets of water. The water had previously been used by others to wash their feet. Ma Shujun also went to the homes of other Falun Dafa practitioners to extort money.

After practitioners Ma Jiancheng and his wife Wang Qiuju returned home, they learned that the Shangjie District "610 Office" were prepared to send them to the Yingyang Brainwashing Center. Both of them had no other choice but to leave their home and become homeless.
