Atrocities Committed By "610 Office" Officials in Xintian County, Hunan Province: A 77-Year-Old Man's Intestines Were Severed by Violent Beating

Staff members of the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] in Xintian County of Hunan Province, Director Yang Shikun, Deng Guobing, Deng Xiaoyong, are very brutal in their treatment of Falun Gong practitioners. They violently beat practitioners who fall into their hands, even aged senior citizens, without an ounce of reservation.

Mr. Liu Shanqiu, a 77-year-old retired cadre from the Tax Bureau, was arrested by these people, simply because he tried to tell people the facts of Falun Gong. After they finished beating this elderly man, they ordered a prisoner to continue beating him.

After the lengthy beating from Deng Guobing and Deng Xiaoyong, elderly Mr. Liu had wounds all over his body, and his intestines were severed. He was sent to a hospital for emergency treatment, and paid 11,000Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] However, the "610 Office" gangsters still wouldn't leave him alone, and as a further penalty, they forced him to pay 1000 Yuan.

Practitioner Chen, 66 years old, was arrested by the same people, simply because he went to appeal to a higher level of government. He was beaten, kicked, and endured various tortures from "610 Office" staff members. They forced the old man to kneel on the ground. They then put a thick wooden stick across the old man's calves, and two heavy men were made to stand on each end of the stick: a method of torture which causes excruciating pain.

Due to the brutality of the local "610 Office," some practitioners were also forced to leave their homes. The "610 Office" then confiscated everything from them worth any value, and kidnapped the children and other family members to the "610 Office", using them as hostages.
