Seventy year old Guiyang Dafa practitioner Mr. Tang Guofu, was the Party Committee secretary of the Guiyang Chemical Industry Automobile Factory. Before Tang started practicing Dafa, he suffered from heart disease, high blood pressure, hardening of the eyeballs, etc., He spent over 10,000 Yuan* in medical expenses every year. Since he began practicing Dafa in 1993, numerous ailments of his were healed, and since he hadn't taken any medicine for the past 7 years, he had saved his country huge medical expenses.
Additionally, the psychological stress he had accumulated over the years from China's turbulent historical campaigns targeting various people lifted. In the past, during the political campaign of the Cultural Revolution, Tao had been targeted and forced to be publicly humiliated and criticized. After learning Falun Dafa he felt relaxed and in high spirits. His family became cheerful and harmonious.
Since Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Gong, Tang was forced by officials to "undergo tests." At the Party Members' Meeting of his work unit, National Security, and Public Security officials talked to him many times, in an attempt to intimidate him into renouncing his belief and giving up Dafa cultivation. However, Tang resolutely refused.
Before long, a circular was distributed across the province defaming his character, and describing him as an example of an "un-transformed Party Committee Secretary." However, inspite of this harassment, Tang continued to practice the Falun Gong exercises and and he often clarified the truth of the persecution of Falun Gong to the people around him. Because of this, National and Public Security staff and the Xingguan Police Station officers often came to his home to harass him, as well as his daughter, who was arrested and detained many times for going to Beijing to appeal to the government on behalf of Falun Dafa.
The constant harassment and defamation of his character made him feel as though he was back in the chaotic time of Cultural Revolution where there was a total absence of rule of law. He became very depressed, and eventually, in May 2000, he passed away after being wronged simply for trying to be a good person who believes in the principle of Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance.
