Richmond, Virginia (USA): Kind-Hearted High School Students Help Collect Signatures to Rescue Charles Li (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net October 4, 2003) On the afternoon of September 14, the "Car Tour across the US to Rescue Charles Li" arrived at Richmond, the capital of Virginia. The car tour team included Dr. Li's fiancée, Ms. Yeong-ching Foo, practitioners from Oregon and Chicago, as well as practitioners from Norfolk and Charlottesville. Together with local practitioners, they gathered in Monroe Park in downtown Richmond.

Practitioners quickly set up a "Rescue Charles Photo Exhibition," began playing the serene Dafa music, and started to collect signatures. As more and more interested tourists came to our site, practitioners demonstrated the graceful Falun Gong exercises for them and took the opportunity to promote Dafa and talk about the brutal persecution in China. Yeong-ching Foo described the plight of Charles Li for the audience.

Hearing the story of Charles and the car tour's effort, a high school student was very touched. She said that she is the person in charge of the Amnesty International Charter in her high school. Before our event, she had already learned about the news of the "Car Tour to Rescue Charles Li." Together with other AI members, she had already collected more than 30 signatures to show their support. Today she came here to present these signatures to practitioners who would go to Washington DC to submit signatures to the State Department. After handing over the signatures, she again took blank petition forms to help us collect signatures in the park. Kind-hearted high school students, thank you very much for your help.

Through the Rescue Charles Li gathering in Monroe Park of Richmond, many local people once again learned more about Dafa.
