Activity Held at Penn State University for Rescuing Falun Gong Practitioners (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On October 3, 2003 as part of many activities welcoming the new and returning students at the beginning of the semester, Mr. Chen Gang, who was illegally detained by Jiang's regime for 18 months, came to campus to thank the students, teachers and media that helped rescue him.

Two years ago, Chen Rutang and his wife came to Penn State, asking for help to rescue their son Chen Gong, who was detained in Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp because of practicing Falun Gong. This time, at the annual ceremony, the couple and their son came to the campus to thank those thousands of supporters who signed their names on the petition letter. Chen Gong said that because of the rescue effort overseas, he experienced less torture in the forced labor camp, so every signature and each person's support were very important. But he was still shocked by electric batons and deprived of sleep for 15 days. Chen called on Penn State students and teachers to continue their support for rescuing Dr. Charles Lee, who was detained in China for practicing Falun Gong.

Ms. Corina, a student who came from Taiwan three years ago, set up a Falun Gong club on campus. In the "Rescue Our Family Members" campaign two years ago, she collected over 5000 signatures on campus.

Corina recalled, "At that time, many Chinese students didn't know the truth about Falun Gong and they laughed at me or cursed at me. Someone even threatened me. I remembered what the Teacher taught us. The people can treat us badly, but we can't treat others badly. We must follow the principle of Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance. One Chinese student had heard a lot of lies and fabricated propaganda materials. He asked me in front of a lot of people why I deceived him. I looked into his eyes and said with all my compassion: "I would never deceive you. I practice Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance. I told him the facts about Falun Gong one after another. In the end, his eyes turned red and he said, "I believe you." Though many people have told me Falun Gong is bad, I believe you."

Corina continued, "Falun Gong is absolutely unselfish. There are many moving stories. I hope I can learn it well, become more and more unselfish, and truly think of others."

At noon, banners reading, "Falun Dafa" "The world needs Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance" and dozens of practitioners doing exercises quietly attracted a lot of students. They stopped on their way to take the truth-clarifying material and look at the poster for rescuing Charles Lee. Many signed the petition.
