Ireland: A Western Practitioner's Speech from the Public Hearing of Criminal Jiang Zemin in Dublin City Center (Photo)
(Clearwisdom.net, November 10, 2003) I went to China in March 2002 to
help Trinity College student Zhao Ming return to Ireland and also appeal to the
Chinese authorities to end the persecution of Falun Gong. I witnessed first hand how all aspects of the media are used to defame Falun
Dafa. The most disturbing thing I saw was a large gruesome poster defaming Falun
Dafa practitioners that was situated in the middle of a public park. It was very
graphic and depicted a number of ugly scenes with illustrations. The poster was
so explicit and filled with so many lies it really upset me. Former Chairman
Jiang Zemin was saturating Chinese society with lies defaming Falun Dafa
practitioners so these lies could be used as justification for throwing innocent
people in labor camps, prisons, detention centers and mental hospitals. When I talked to ordinary Chinese people, some were afraid to talk about
Falun Gong whilst others openly and brazenly echoed what they had heard on TV or
read from a newspaper. When I explained the truth of the practice to these
people they were completely shocked. They found it difficult to believe that a
Westerner was practicing Falun Dafa and that it was practiced openly and freely
in nearly every country in the world besides China. Because all of the media in
China is state controlled, they had not heard a positive word about Falun Dafa
and their ideas were based solely on what they had heard in the state-controlled
media. Before I left China I appealed for an end to the persecution of Falun Dafa
and for the release of all detained Falun Dafa practitioners. Although my appeal
was perfectly legal, I was arrested, thrown in a police van and driven to the
nearest police station. In the police station I was threatened again and again
with violent behavior and vicious taunts. I refused to be treated like a
criminal so I was kneed in the stomach and my fingers where forcefully twisted
back in order to take my mug shot. In order to find my hotel three policemen
drove me around in a police car. While in the car I told the police the truth
about Falun Dafa but they were not willing to listen and beat me in the back of
the car. Eventually because they could not find my hotel, they took me to an
underground car parking lot and beat me there until I told them where my hotel
was. Following this I was brought to a police cell that had blood splattered on
the wall. I was violently strip-searched and they tore my clothes in the
process. I was thrown into the cell and repeatedly questioned for hours about
who I knew in China and who I had met on my visit there. From my personal experience I can tell you there is currently a campaign of
genocide being implemented in China to destroy the will and the body of Falun
Dafa practitioners. There is no denying that this campaign to eradicate Falun
Dafa practitioners is the notion of former chairman of China Jiang Zemin,
because he has publicly pushed forward this campaign inside and outside of
China. By any moral standard this is wrong and Jiang Zemin should not escape
trial for his crimes. Millions are suffering during this persecution campaign
and thousands have already died due to torture and maltreatment. I hope the
Irish Judicial system will help to uphold the dignity of mankind and put the
former Chairman of China Jiang Zemin on trial for genocide. Thank you.
