A Practitioner's Suggestion: Do Not Become Complacent upon Getting "Positive Feedback"
By Feng Chun, a practitioner from China
(Clearwisdom.net) I have read an experience-sharing article by an
overseas practitioner, in which the practitioner mentioned he had met a famous
"anti-Qigong" expert. This person said he had been detained at home
for joining the June 4th 1989 event, and that he thought Jiang's
persecution was very stupid and wrong. He also accepted truth clarification
materials and a book, expressing that he would take these materials back to
China. Here I would like to make two suggestions based on my understanding: Because of social and cultural differences, western practitioners and many
Chinese practitioners living overseas are honest and straightforward. The way
they look at things is very innocent. This is good. But as for the complicated
situations and cunning minds, they don't understand them as thoroughly as we do
here in Mainland China. We often read on Clearwisdom that overseas practitioners
happily tell how he/she called some 610 office and police or law department to
clarify the truth, and the receiver expressed "We all know about it, we no
longer will persecute," "I understand everything now, ok", etc. The Fa-rectification is proceeding. For these five years, Mainland China and
overseas practitioners' validation of the Fa with one heart has allowed more and
more people to know the truth, and many people who had persecuted practitioners
no longer dare to do evil things. This is true. However, not all so-called
"positive feedback" is true, especially with people from certain
departments, as they are quite different from ordinary citizens. When they are
questioned, they are scared, and might say something they don't really mean just
to end the conversation with righteous practitioners. They might be doing
something very bad. Those officials are experts at telling lies. Nothing can be
believed from those who have lost their human nature. My personal view is: when clarifying the truth (especially for those people
described above), we cannot be attached to anything. We should keep a righteous
mind while doing righteous deeds, and do well the things we should do. If we
meet people who temporarily don't understand or who cannot be saved, we aren't
discouraged; when we get positive feedback, we aren't attached to it. We need to
look it at wisely, maintain strong righteous thoughts, and avoid creating
loopholes. For example, when we hear others begin to agree with what was said,
we might become relaxed, as if our goal was accomplished, forgetting our
righteous thoughts. There is also the possibility that the listener is deceiving
us. As Dafa disciples, we should be in charge, and maintain pure and firm
righteous thoughts, let our compassion reach the listeners' inner bodies, and
eliminate the evil behind them. Dafa is giving them the opportunity to choose
their future. We are neither waiting for nor expecting their "positive
feedback". This will prevent us from looking at what they say blindly, and
our practitioners' compassionate, pure side will eliminate evil and save
sentient beings more effectively. Frankly, I don't believe the words of that "famous anti-Qigong
expert." This person is the famous "anti-Qigong fighter" who published many
irresponsible books attacking Dafa. The most important thing is not whether he
spoke the truth or not, but that Dafa has offered every being an opportunity
for a new life, and that we tell this fact to everybody, using all of our power,
dissolving in Teacher's vast benevolence. Here I'll make a suggestion: even though I don't believe this man, I still
think we should protect his existing conscience, so he won't be persecuted by
the evil forces. I don't think it was appropriate for the practitioner to name
him, as it could bring this man many forms of reprisal. I understand the happiness that fellow practitioners feel when they see the
awakening of these lives. However, we are Dafa practitioners, and under all
circumstances, we should consider others first; otherwise, we will have gone the
opposite way from what we wished to accomplish. The intention was good, i.e.,
for validating Dafa and commending people in the world for their awakening, but
attention should be paid to the way we handle things, so that no loopholes can
be taken advantage of by the evil forces. Teacher said to us, "The desire
to show off plus the attachment of zealotry are most easily exploited by the
demonic part of your mind." ("Definitive Conclusion", Essentials
for Further Advancement) Everything during the Fa rectification is unprecedented. With the guidance of
our compassionate Teacher, we have made steady progress with firm steps,
unceasing exploration and accumulated experiences. For things like overseas
collection of signatures, the issue of the name list in Mainland China, etc., we
have learned many painful lessons. Only Dafa can help us maintain clear-headed
rationality and wisdom and guide our way well. The above are merely some personal thoughts and suggestions for exchange with
fellow practitioners. Your corrections and comments would be greatly
appreciated. October 15, 2003 |
