Elderly Female Falun Dafa Practitioner Deng Guojun from Chenzhou City, Hunan Province Is Tortured to Death (Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Deng Guojun, 60 years old, was a Falun Dafa
practitioner from Chenzhou City, Hunan Province. She was taken from her home and
illegally detained around August 2002, and was kept in custody at the Chenzhou
City No. 2 Detention Center. On the evening of October 19, 2003, Deng Guojun
died unexpectedly. Her body was covered with plastic bags and tied up. When the
plastic bag that covered her face was removed, her face appeared to be gaunt and
wax yellow, and there was blood at the corners of her mouth. Deng Guojun was born in 1943. She lived in a house on property owned by the
Zaishengzi Household Supplies Company, located on Shengping Road, Suxian
District, Chenzhou City. She worked at a collective unit under the jurisdiction
of the Beihu District. Ms. Deng Guojun was illegally arrested at home around August 2002 and kept in
custody at the Chenzhou No. Two Detention Center. After Ms. Deng's death on
October 19, her body was transported by prison guards from the Minghua Hospital,
which is next to the 107 National Highway, into a funeral parlor. The next
morning many policemen came and the heads of the "610 Office" [An
agency specifically created to persecute Falun gong, with absolute power over
each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary
systems.], police station and detention center were there. At the scene
uniformed and plainclothes policemen were everywhere. There were also two cream
colored sedans and other police cars. The locals thought that some kind of
important case was in progress, but in reality those responsible were afraid of
the news being leaked out. They hurriedly cremated Deng's body without notifying
her family. At one o'clock in the afternoon after the cremation, the "610
Office" and policemen collected the ashes and hastily left. Many of Deng's
family and friends who wanted to pay their last respects could not fulfill their
wishes. The policemen said, "Deng Guojun died of a cerebral
hemorrhage." However, why did the policemen cremate her body in such a
hurry? Did they intend to cover up something? According to the local customs,
before the body was cremated, the deceased's family would hire a band to play
some Chinese folk music and set off firecrackers. However, this custom was not
observed. Sources said that Deng was physically beaten to death by the policemen
of the "610 Office." A 60-year-old woman was illegally detained for more than a year in a dark and
damp detention center, where she was given terrible food and forced to work long
hours. It is clear that she passed away after torture. The policemen of the
"610 Office," the public security bureau and the detention center must
be held responsible. Deng Guojun was tortured simply for following the
principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance to become a good person.
After Ms. Deng's death, her sons and daughters were not allowed to mourn for
their mother, and they were forced to keep quiet. Where is the conscience of
these government officials? Ms. Deng Guojun attended a Falun Gong seminar in January 1994. Before
practicing Falun Gong, she suffered from severe, chronic bronchial asthma,
metroptosis (fallen uterus), high blood pressure, heart disease and other
illnesses, which could not be cured after long treatment. However, after
practicing Falun Dafa, Deng's health got better day by day. It was Falun Dafa
that gave her a second life, so wherever she went, she would tell people, "Falun
Dafa is good!" and "My Teacher is good!" However, after Jiang ordered the persecution of Falun Dafa, she did not have
a single day of peace. Ms. Deng traveled to Beijing five times to appeal and was
arrested several times. Since July 20th, 1999, the public security
bureau, the neighborhood committee and her work unit harassed her repeatedly and
tried to force her to give up the practice of Falun Dafa and hand in Falun Dafa
books. At the beginning of November 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun
Dafa and was intercepted by the police on the train in Wuhan. She was illegally
detained for 15 days and then transferred to Chenzhou City No. Two Detention
Center for extended detention. On China's New Year's Day, 2000, she was arrested
on Tiananmen Square and sent back to Chenzhou. She was then locked up at the No.
Two Detention Center for several months. On May 9th, 2000, Ms. Deng was arrested while practicing the
exercises at Chenzhou City's Dongfeng Square with a group of practitioners, and
she was illegally locked up at a detention center for several months. In the
latter half of 2000, two fellow practitioners from Jiahe County sought temporary
lodging at her home and were arrested after being reported to police. She was
subsequently sentenced to one year of forced labor. In February 2001 Ms. Deng
was transferred to Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City. The labor camp
refused to take her in because she couldn't pass the physical. She was locked up
at home for a prolonged time. Her doors and windows were wired up, and she was
locked in all the time except for going to buy food. However, she always
remembered to promote and validate the Fa. Later Ms. Deng was once again sent to
the forced labor camp and was again rejected for poor health. Then she was
locked up in the so-called "legal system study base", which was
actually a jail-like brainwashing center. Around August 2002, Falun Dafa practitioner Lei Baoliang went to visit her.
The policemen who had tailed Lei illegally broke into Deng's house. The two of
them were arrested after the police found Falun Dafa materials in their search.
Deng was detained at the No. Two Detention Center for fourteen months, until she
was tortured to death. At present, at least 15 Falun Dafa practitioners are detained at the No. Two
Detention Center, including Mr. Liao Songlin, 60 years old, Mr Wu Jianmin, 44
years old, Mr He Xuezhao over 40 years old, Ms Leibaoliang, 56 years old, Ms Wei
Xiangpo, Ms Zhang Wenlan, Ms Shi Jiaoyu 32 years old and Mr Yang, a former
director of the "610 Office" who was suspected of easing up on Falun
Gong practitioners. A list of the perpetrators who are suspected of being involved in Deng
