(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Liang Linhong. My husband's name is Wang Shengbiao. My husband used to be an instructor at the Hebei Chemical Engineering Institute and he turned 44 this year. After he learned to practice Falun Gong in 1994, his health improved significantly. He was full of energy, and worked diligently without any complaints. His colleagues and his management all spoke very highly of him. At home, he was a good father to our children and treated the elderly with respect; he was a good husband and a good son. Yet, simply because he insisted on believing in the principles of, "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance," valued virtue and cultivated his mind, he was persecuted by the local authorities, even though he did not do anything that violated the law. My family still doesn't know his whereabouts or whether he is still alive.

Since July 20, 1999, some people in power, out of their own self-interest, placed themselves above the law and began the brutal persecution of Falun Gong. They applied a policy of state terror which required "implication of all family members and relatives" if anyone in their families practiced Falun Gong. Those officials also openly started to destroy the most valuable things of the human world - a person's conscience, values and morality. People in the public security organizations, the procuratorial organizations, and courts, as well as in companies and government organizations were all pressured into betraying their own conscience to avoid being persecuted themselves. At the same time large numbers of good people who cultivate their minds toward benevolence were persecuted for no reason.

The street police station officers had detained my husband for several days since July 20, 1999. Then, my husband was forced to live in the Hebei Chemical Institute under surveillance by their security personnel and was not allowed to go home for over twenty days. On October 1, 2001, my husband was forced to leave home to avoid the constant harassment, arbitrary arrest and abuse while in detention. He was abducted again by the authorities in August of 2003. On September 2, I went to the Chang'An Public Security Division in Shijianzhuang City to confirm my husband's disappearance by the security personnel with the deputy head Liu of the division. He admitted that my husband had been abducted and he agreed that I could bring some clothes and necessities for my husband and they would give the clothing to him. When I asked according to which legal procedure was my husband abducted, he could not provide a clear answer, and they refused to tell me where my husband was imprisoned.

I am not a lawyer but I feel that when a family member is imprisoned his family should be informed of the reason behind it. Why do the public security organizations, responsible for upholding the law, not follow any law? Is this kind of arrest without charge or legal, summons, a detention, or an arrest? Where is my husband and why are they afraid to tell my family and facts? I am appealing to the society for help, I only want an explanation, and I want to see my husband again.
