More Facts Related to Dafa Practitioner Mr. Li Jianhou's Death in Deyang Jail, Sichuan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Mr. Li Jianhou, 68, was a resident of Nanchong City, Suchuan Province. On March 27, 2003, he was tortured to death by officials at the Deyang jail.

Mr. Li Jianhou was a former administrative coordinating commissioner for Nanchong City. He refused to renounce Falun Gong and was illegally sentenced to a 3-year term in Deyang jail in late January of 2003. On March 29, 2003, he was pronounced dead by the jail. According to a news source, in February the guards bound Mr. Li to a bed at the jail clinic to force-feed and intravenously transfuse him. Later they transferred him to the Deyang Jail No. 5 Hospital where Mr. Li passed away.

Mr. Li Jianhou had previously been put into a forced labor camp for not giving up Falun Dafa. Not at the labor camp, the detention center, nor the jail, would Mr. Li Jian Hou renounce Dafa; he remained steadfast. His death presents more criminal evidence of Jiang and associates persecuting Falun Gong.

After causing Mr. Li Jianhou's death, at a meeting with prisoners, the jail's education department head Mr. Zeng commented on practitioners' demands of an investigation. He said that investigation into the death of Mr. Li and the beating of Mr. Zhou Mingfa are unreasonable and improper. Then he also slandered and attacked Dafa with many vicious words. Deyang Prosecutor, Director Mr. Huang, started a rumor that 10 or so detained practitioners violated rules by not reforming, and he requested inmates to spy on and report on practitioners, trying to intimidate the whole group. Because of practitioners' righteous thoughts and deeds, the attempt failed and they walked out of the isolation chamber in an upright and dignified manner. Only one practitioner remained and the others held hunger strikes until the last one was released from the isolation chamber.
