Practitioners Persecuted in Xinhuang County, Huaihua City, Hubei Province

Ms. Luo Jufeng was reported to the police for distributing Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials. On July 8, 2003 she was abducted at the market by four policemen under the direction of the "610 office."* Ms. Luo was sentenced to a year and a half at the Zhuzhou City Baimajun Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Yang Xiuming, an officer in the Xinhuang County Civil Affairs Bureau, was reported to the police for distributing information about Falun Dafa. She was illegally arrested by the Political and Security Division of the Xinhuang Police Department, in collaboration with the National Security Team in Yuping County. Ms. Yang is currently being held in the Guizhou Province Yuping Detention Center.

Gan Qiaoying and Yang Huaxiu were reported to the police while distributing Dafa truth- clarifying materials. They were arrested by the Xinhuang County Xinglong Village authorities, and are currently being held in the Xinhuang County Detention Center. These two Dafa practitioners are very steadfast and have gone on a hunger strike to protest their illegal detention.
