Mr. Lin Yanqing, a Post Doctorate Fellow in Harbin Industry University, Has Suffered Brutal Torture, Only Has Three Fingers Left in His Hands

Mr. Lin Yanqing, 34 years old, was originally a postdoctoral Engineering Mechanics student at the School of Architecture Engineering, Harbin Industrial University. He was the youngest post-doctoral fellow in the postdoctoral station. He began to cultivate Falun Dafa in 1996. After Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Gong in July 1999, he was abducted several times and deprived of his postdoctoral title because he persisted in his belief and went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa and tell the truth. He was sent back to his hometown of Quanzhou city, Fajian province, to live under surveillance for a year.

Mr. Lin was detained in October 2002, when he went to Quanzhou Police Department to request a registered permanent residence. Then he was sent to the Lujiang work farm in Fuzhou for 'reform' through forced labor. Mr. Lin Yanqing is now handicapped since his hands have only three fingers left. This resulted from frostbite incurred when he was forced off the train that was sending him home against his will, which was just after he went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa in January 2000. He thus had to use his feet to wash his clothes in the work farm. A man like him was not only required to submit to 'reform' via forced labor, but was also subjected to forced brainwashing.

Mr. Lin Yanqing demanded his unconditional release and held a hunger strike to protest the persecution towards him. As of end of October, he had been on the hunger strike for 11 days, yet nobody knows his current situation. We appeal for the support of people with a sense of justice.
