The Facts of the Persecution Against Falun Dafa Practitioners in the Yinmahe and Huanxiling Forced Labor Camps, Jilin Province
(Clearwisdom.net) Jilin Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Jiang Wei, was seriously
persecuted when he was detained in Huanxiling Forced Labor Camp. When he talked
about Falun Gong with a policeman, he was reported and was later beaten up by
the policemen in the camp. They threatened him saying, "Beating you is to show
others." Afterwards, Mr. Jiang's family visited him, separated from him by a
wire mesh security fence. They found that he had bruises all over his head.
Since that Mr. Jiang Wei's family worried about him (Mr. Li Zaijie was killed
by the persecution, so there was a clearly demonstrated threat to Falun Gong
practitioners' lives), the policemen asked Mr. Jiang's family to persuade him to
write the "Break Away [from Falun Gong] Statement." They also intimidated
him saying if he would not write the statement, he would suffer grave
consequences. Jiang Wei did not answer, so he was beaten up and received many
bloody cuts on his head that day.
On July 1, the policemen ordered the detained practitioners to sing a certain
song that slanders Falun Dafa. Mr. Jiang Wei and Mr. Dong Jiarui did not sing,
so they were beaten up. Mr. Deng Changhua, Mr. Jiang Yaojun and Mr. Wang Hongyin
were forced to cross their legs and sit on the wet ground. If they moved a bit,
they would be beaten. Mr. Deng Changhua's wrists were handcuffed behind his back
and the police slammed his head against the wall. Mr. Deng fell on the ground
with a bleeding head, but the authorities did not allow anybody to help him.
Afterwards, the practitioners who were illegally detained in the cities of
Siping, Yanji, Jilin and Songyuan were sent to Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in
Jiutai City, Jilin Province. This labor camp became a base for "transforming"
Falun Dafa practitioners.
In March 2002, a high ranking ringleader in the "610 Office" (an agency
specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each
level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary
systems) came to the Yinmahe Labor Camp. On March 22, the labor camp used
violence to try to transform the Falun Dafa practitioners there. Each of the
approximately 300-400 Falun Dafa practitioners at the labor camp was tortured by
excruciating means. Guo Junpeng, director of the labor camp, and Zheng Hailing,
head of the Administration Branch, were the principals behind this localized
persecution. Zheng Hailing even said, "We must transform every last one of them,
by any means necessary."
On April 5, Meng Fanrong became the new labor camp director, in charge of
persecuting Falun Gong. On April 19, Songyuan Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Sun
Shizhong, was beaten to death. This event did not change the guards in the labor
camp, and they continued to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Policeman Yue
Fengshan said that they had been given a "list of practitioners who were allowed
to die [due to their persecution]."
At the end of March 2003, the labor camp began another round of persecution
against Falun Gong practitioners. On May 13, Mr. Jiang Wei and five other
practitioners tried to escape with righteous thoughts, but they did not succeed.
Mr. Jiang Wei's sentence was extended by an extra eight months, Mr. Jin
Guangxu's sentence was extended an extra ten months and he was beaten up and
detained in a small cell. If any practitioners pointed out those illegal actions
committed by the labor camp police, they would suffer more virulent retaliation.
Many practitioners were beaten. In September, Mr. Jiang Wei was detained in a
small cell because he refused to watch a brainwashing video, and his sentence
was extended by an extra year. On October 9, Mr. Jiang Wei's family went to the
labor camp to pick him up, but Zheng Hailing did not release Mr. Jiang. In
Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp, many Falun Gong practitioners have suffered this kind
of persecution and arbitrary extension of their sentences. Posting date: 11/30/2003
