Exposing the Tactics of Zhao Xinwu, Head of the "610 Office" in the Daqing Survey Drilling Company

(Clearwisdom.net) Since Zhao Xinwu became Assistant Party Chair and the head of the "610 Office"* of the Daqing Survey Drilling Company under the Daqing Oil Administration Bureau, he adopted the following policy for persecuting Dafa practitioners: "Once someone assumes responsibility over reforming one practitioner, his benefits and compensation will be directly linked to it." This has directly intensified the persecution of Dafa practitioners. He often led people to practitioners' homes or made phone calls to harass practitioners, all under the pretense of "caring for the employees."

Ms. Yang Bo is one of the practitioners that Zhao wanted to brainwash. Zhao Xinwu asked Yu Yonghai from the organizational department to assume responsibility for reforming Ms. Yang Bo. This failed, so in late September he took matters into his own hands. When he found out that Ms. Yang was laid off because she practiced Falun Gong, he went to Ms. Yang's home. He pretended to be very warm and sincere. When he found out Ms. Yang's mother had health problems and financial difficulties, he expressed that he would try to help Ms. Yang find another job. He also called over his wife, who was a medical doctor, to examine Ms. Yang's mother and gave Ms. Yang 1,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China] on behalf of the company.

Around October 1, 2003, Zhao again came to see Ms. Yang Bo. He stated his real intention:

"The '610 Office' in the bureau and the city all know you practice Falun Gong. They all want you to go through brainwashing sessions (the Daqing Red Satellite brainwashing class). You'd better write a pledge saying that you won't practice Falun Gong again. Otherwise, you will be sent to the brainwashing center before October 1, 2003."

Ms. Yang, however, had experienced all kinds of tribulations and persecution, and she immediately saw through his tactics. She knew that once she refused his requests, he would resort to threats, and finally violence.

Zhao Xinwu abducted Mr. Bai Yufu, the former head of the department of security in the company, on September 10, 2003. This was just because Mr. Bai refused to give up practicing "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance." Mr. Bai was later sent to the Red Satellite brainwashing class.

Currently, Ms. Yang is in hiding to avoid the persecution.
