UK: Human Rights Lawyer Joins Practitioners to File a Lawsuit Against Jiang Zemin

(Clearwisdom.net) A UK human rights lawyer has agreed to work on a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin initiated by UK Falun Gong practitioners. The lawyer has started the due process and begun to prepare legal submissions. Other High Court human rights lawyers also showed strong interest and support for the case. Various legal means, information and consultations were suggested in the lawyer's letters to practitioners. They expressed shock at the horrific persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and wished practitioners success.

One lawyer wrote, "Thank you very much for your letter regarding the former Chinese president, Jiang Zemin, who is responsible for genocide and crimes against Falun Gong practitioners in China. Anybody who commits such acts should be brought to justice in the correct way and tried under the rules of international law. I have read some reports about the persecution before but very briefly, and I am quite shocked about the extremely brutal human rights violation happening in China today."

We would like to stress here that the goal of this case is not to seek to imprison Jiang and "610 Office"* chieftain Luo Gan, the two prime criminals responsible for the mass persecution. Nor is the aim to obtain some monetary compensation, as nothing can compensate for the loss of innocent people's lives. Our aim is to make it known to all that the vicious and brutal persecution, which is in essence against human morality and conscience, is still occurring and should be brought to an end.

* An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
