(Clearwisdom.net) On September 15, 2003, the Gongnong District court in Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province, illegally placed two Dafa practitioners on trial. The two practitioners walked away from prosecution and persecution, stepping out of the courtroom with righteous thoughts.
That same day, lawless officials started to seek out and arrest these and all other practitioners in Hegang City.
It is reported that the head of Hegang was very annoyed, so he threatened the court director that he would be removed from office if court officials could not locate the two Dafa practitioners within five days. Therefore, the court director earmarked 100,000 Yuan in funds to spend to seize any Dafa practitioners and offered a reward of 20,000 Yuan (over six times an average workers' annual income) for the capture of the two Dafa practitioners.
During China's October 1 National Day holiday season, the police of New Nanlu Local Police Station and Hubin Local Police Station searched every building and person in their jurisdiction. They did not let anyone off. In the meantime they went to search the homes of Dafa practitioners that they had records of, but this was not successful.
Pictures of the Dafa practitioners were posted in public places, as a warrant for arrest. A picture of their vehicle was also distributed. Any vehicles leaving the city and the people on board were inspected one by one. Checkpoints were set up at all intersections going out of town.
