Ms. Lu Xiufang was a 56-year-old Dafa practitioner and a farmer from
Longhezhuan Village, Huashan Town, Jimo City, Shangdong Province. On July 21,
2003 Ms. Lu passed away from injuries caused by torture, less than two hours after she was brought home from Jinan Women's
Prison.
Prior to practicing Falun Dafa, Ms. Lu Xiufang suffered many kinds of
illnesses and lived with excruciating pain. After she started cultivating in
Falun Dafa, all of her illnesses completely disappeared, and she was healthy
ever since. When Jiang Zemin started to persecute Falun Dafa in 1999, Ms. Lu
Xiufang traveled to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Dafa. In 2001, Ms. Lu was
arrested while distributing truth-clarification materials about
Falun Dafa on the street. She was sentenced to four years in prison, and sent to
Jinan Women's Prison.
Ms. Lu Xiufang was very determined in continuing her cultivating in Falun
Dafa despite the torture she suffered at the hands of the police. On July 21, 2003 Ms.
Lu was barely breathing when she was brought home from the Jinan Women's Prison.
According to a reliable source, her whole body, including her head, was terribly
swollen, and she was covered with injuries. She could not stand or sit on her own.
She died within less than two hours after arriving at home.
A resident in Longhezhuang Village, Huashan Town, Jimo City, Shangdong
Province stated on November 5, 2003, "Lu Xiufang was a Falun Gong practitioner.
She died after the police brought her home."
