Some Thoughts about the Symbolic Tribunal

Recently the symbolic tribunal against Jiang Zemin has become widely popular worldwide. Symbolic trials have been held in Canada, Washington D.C., France, and other places. During Fa-study and experience sharing, practitioners have discussed the translation and meaning of "mock trial" or "symbolic tribunal." For those who may not know, "symbolic tribunal" refers to holding a public trial by simulating a court format, without being restricted to an actual court setting or using legal procedures, in order to achieve the effect of justice and telling people the facts, and such an effect cannot be achieved in a court. People in many countries of the world have used this kind of trial format with major dictators and murderers in their own countries.

I share similar understandings. In fact, this kind of trial is actually a real trial; therefore, we should not understand it from the surface meaning of the translation. This kind of trial is a trial in the human world, led and hosted by Dafa practitioners, trying the evil and Jiang Zemin. The real grand trial has long since begun. Meanwhile, with the truth being spread widely, Jiang Zemin's evilness and lies have also been eliminated from the gigantic colossal firmament, from the minds of Falun Dafa practitioners, and from the conscience of kind people. Of course, we do not go to extremes. And that does not mean that legal procedures of the ordinary world are not important: the unfolding of those legal procedures is also Dafa practitioners helping people to understand the facts. In the ordinary world, the process can further complement and enhance the "court" of conscience and public opinion, and vice versa. The development and outcome in the ordinary world's courts are directly related to Dafa practitioners' truth-clarification efforts.

Unknowingly, sometimes we let the evil take advantage of our loopholes. Looking back, whenever there were some new developments in the ordinary world's legal procedures, some practitioners called on everyone to send supportive righteous thoughts. Even though this is not wrong, in fact we are relying too much on everyday people. When we saw practitioners all over the world holding "mock trials," we actually did not take them seriously because we stated that they were just mock trials or symbolic tribunals.

Therefore, I would like to suggest that practitioners not understand a mock court from the surface meaning, considering it a "virtual" or "symbolic" tribunal. It is simply a trial, a Dafa practitioners' trial against the evil, and a solemn grand trial. In the future when all people understand the facts of the evil's persecution, the entire society will volunteer to participate in the grand trial of Jiang. Dafa practitioners holding trials in the form of Western culture's mock trial or stage performances will become examples for future people's grand trial against the evil.
