Retired Cadre of Shandong Province, Mr. Ma Guilin, Dies of Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Ma Guilin, 65 years old, was the former director of the Socialism Institute of Shandong Province. He used to suffer from lymph cancer. After taking up the practice of Falun Gong, he soon recovered and became very healthy. Since July 20, 1999, the local police station, street office, and other agencies had been harassing him, not allowing him to practice Falun Gong or tell the truth about the persecution publicly. At one time they sent Ma to illegal detention, forced him to go through brainwashing, and suspended his pension and employee benefits.

On September 30, 2002, Zhou Defa, head of "610 Office," led dozens of police and arrived at Ma's home in 5 police cars. They attempted to take him away for brainwashing. Their attempts lasted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Because of the force police used, Ma's arms were paralyzed at the scene, and he could not move them at all. The violence of the police aroused indignation among the onlookers. Afterwards, Ma became mentally disabled and had to be bedridden. He passed away in March 2003.
