Monk Jigong had a premonition that a mountain flying from India would soon crush a village near Lingyin Temple, and kill a lot of village people. [Jigong is a well-known Buddhist monk from the Southern Song Dynasty (1127 A.D.-1279 A.D.).] He knew that no one in the village would believe him if he told them his premonition. At the time, the entire village was attending a wedding ceremony. Jigong rushed at the bride, threw her over his shoulder, and started to run away from the village. The population of the entire village then went in pursuit after Jigong. The moment everyone had reached a safe area, a giant mountain suddenly fell on the village and completely destroyed it. This is the origin of Feilai Peak in front of Lingyin Temple.
