Lawless Police in Hebei Province Receive Their Due

On May 26, 2003, the police in Nangong City, Hebei Province, launched another large-scale illegal arrest of Dafa practitioners. Hundreds of Dafa practitioners were taken to the police department and their homes were ransacked. They also extorted 2,000 to 5,000 yuan from each practitioner [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China]. Police also sent practitioners who firmly believe in Dafa to the brainwashing class in Xingtai City, Hebei Province, where each practitioner was required to pay 20 yuan per day for living expenses. On July 2003, Police Xu Baorong and five personnel under him were involved in a car accident. Three of them died at the scene and the other three were severely injured and remain hospitalized as of this date.

Liu Kunfa, 50, is the Chief of the Jing County Police Department in Hebei Province. He has always promoted the persecution of Dafa. Under his direction, Jing County has become notorious in the City as the area where Falun Gong is most severely persecuted. Some time ago, Liu went to Beijing to correct diabetic complications. The day after he was treated, he went back home and had a severe heart attack. He has since required triple by-pass surgery, costing him over 240,000 yuan. He remains hospitalized.

Zhao Fuquan, 49, was the vice chief of Chengguan Town Police Station in Hui County, Hebei Province. On October 26, 2003, he directed the police to break into Dafa practitioners' homes and forced them to write statements that they would not practice Falun Dafa. If practitioners did not write this statement, they took them to the brainwashing class. Less then a half month later, Zhao died in a car accident.

Wei Qiulin, an official in Xishagang Village, Xipingluo Town, Hui County, slandered Dafa and Dafa practitioners on the broadcast during the Spring Festival. He was involved in a severe car accident when the highway in Houzhuang County was being reconstructed, but he still did not come to realize his errors. One evening in 2003, he prompted several gamblers to follow Dafa practitioners. The next day, he severely sprained his ankle on flat ground. He could hardly walk for days.

On May 20, 2003, Li Zhongyuan, a driver in Nanchun Town, drove the vehicle and helped the police to ransack Dafa practitioners' homes. He slandered Dafa and Teacher with a mouthful of dirty words. About a month later, he was involved in a car accident and both of his legs were fractured.
