Bearing Witness to History: During the April 25 Appeal, Falun Dafa practitioners Use Righteous Thoughts Stop the Evil's Plan to Frame Falun Dafa

(Clearwisdom.net) On April 25, 1999, an appeal by over ten thousand Falun Dafa practitioners near Zhongnanhai shocked the whole world. Many practitioners described its peacefulness, solemnity, and mighty, magnificent scene. Here, I want to tell the true story of how Jiang and his regime tried to fabricate lies about Falun Dafa practitioners attacking Zhongnanhai, but failed.

During the April 25 appeal, I was standing on a sidewalk on Fuyoujie Street, opposite the west gate of Zhongnanhai, only 40-50 meters away from the gate. 50-60 meters south of me, more than 10 police vehicles were parked next to the red wall of Zhongnanhai, and many police who were there carried cell phones. There were police officers positioned every 10 meters on Fuyoujie Street to watch us closely. After 10 AM, this area was completely under martial law. No vehicles were allowed to pass, and they required that each resident in the area be questioned before being allowed to go home.

At around 2-3 PM, the Beijing police issued a public notice. They claimed that they had not arrested people in Tianjin. They slandered all the people who had come to appeal, stating that the information we had been given was not true and that by being here we were disturbing the peace and damaging the social order. They requested that we all leave immediately. We did not move, and remained standing behind the sidewalk line in an orderly manner. By this time, our third group of representatives had been inside Zhongnanhai for a long period of time. We knew their talks must be difficult, and we were determined to stand behind those representatives firmly to the end. We were prepared to be tested severely.

At around 4 PM, we learned that there were Falun Dafa practitioners from Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, etc. in our block. Many were farmers from the suburbs of Beijing, and of every age; some over 70 years old, some as young as 6 years old. One couple carried their 100-day-old baby. A local resident sent water to us, and invited this couple take their baby to rest in his home. A young student was collecting garbage with a plastic bag. The police officers in front of us quietly withdrew. Shortly after, about 20-30 plain clothed people walked out of the Zhongnanhai west gate. They first turned towards the south, then crossed the street and walked straight towards us. As soon as they passed the middle of the street, two men in their 30s or 40s, who looked drunk, started quarreling loudly with each other. Several others around them, who looked like rough individuals, appeared ready to join the fight at any time. There were also several people dressed like officials. They were posed like they were about to stop the fight. There were people behind them with cameras and microphones. The police started moving towards this direction from everywhere. Suddenly, our block seemed to be the focal point.

Falun Dafa practitioners saw through this plan fabricated by the policemen and officials. These people were putting on an act to frame Falun Dafa practitioners. They tried to make it look like practitioners were causing riots and attacking the government. One Falun Dafa practitioner, a middle-aged lady, stopped in this crowd near the sidewalk and pointed out solemnly that they are not Falun Dafa practitioners. She told them not to come near Falun Dafa practitioners on the sidewalk, and asked them to please leave immediately.

Another practitioner reminded everyone that our group should keep still and be on guard for those that might try to fabricate lies about us. Everyone clearly saw through their ploy. We held each other's arms, facing this performance with caution, and prepared ourselves for a bigger drama to unfold. As Falun Dafa practitioners, we showed our peaceful hearts and kept a dignified manner in front of this ugly show.

That group kept up their act for a while, but could not get near us, nor influence anyone else watching them. No one got involved in their fight, and our group maintained order. The authorities saw no weakness to exploit, and their intention was exposed. They quietly separated, and went back inside the west gate of Zhongnanhai.

The media said Falun Dafa practitioners surrounded Zhongnanhai, and tried to attack the government compound, but they could not provide any evidence. Just as our Teacher Li Hongzhi pointed out in Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Midwest-U.S. Fa Conference, "this entire persecution consists of lies, slander, and the most despicable means that can't bear the light of day. They don't dare to let people know, since the world's people will be shocked once they learned the facts. That's why Dafa disciples' clarifying the facts is the most powerful thing. Exposing the evil, exposing this persecution, that's the most powerful way to eliminate and restrain them."
