Hong Kong: Legislative Committee Member Calls for Independent Group to Investigate Charges of Genocide against Jiang (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners gathered on Central Statue Square and invited many Legislative Council members to deliver speeches. A majority of the members thought that an independent group should be set up to investigate Jiang's genocide and reveal the truth to the public. Some members pointed out that Falun Gong in Hong Kong reflects the actual situation in China's execution of the "One country two systems" policy. The members ensured Falun Gong practitioners that they would do their best to protect the Hong Kong people's rights and prevent the occurrence of mainland's injustice in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Falun Gong Association spokesman Kan Hung-Cheung pointed out, "The persecution of people believing in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" in mainland China ruins human kind's morality and conscience. Actually it commits the crime of damaging the conscience of the whole human race. It is a severe crime of infringing human rights."

Legislative Council Member Lau Wai-hing recommended an independent organization to investigate Falun Gong's accusation against Jiang. She wished that China had a transparent system to let citizens to file complaints.

She said that she herself was also blocked by the Chinese communist government and could not go to the mainland. She emphasized that she wished the Hong Kong people could travel freely. She said that the day that any individual's or organization's freedom was restricted would be a serious blow to "One country two systems".

Legislative Council Member Ho Chun Yan stated again on International Human Rights Day that human rights are a very important concept. For example, no discrimination should be allowed based on race, nationality, belief or political affiliation. Such discrimination cannot be tolerated in a civilized society. He said that he spoke at the Falun Gong gathering because he respected people with different opinions.

He said that if China wanted to join the international community, it must behave according to rules of civilized society. There should be an independent organization, even the inspection by the international community to investigate the accusation against Jiang. He told Falun Gong practitioners on site that they were not alone, as he stood together with Falun Gong and strived for the rights for global citizens.

Sun Zhongwen was illegally sentenced on the mainland yesterday for persisting in practicing Falun Gong. His mother, whose visa will expire in two days, participated in the gathering. She especially requested the Hong Kong Government to help her and let her appeal in Hong Kong for her son. She thought that she would be persecuted if she returned to Beijing.
