In a Few Words: Studying the Fa with a Calm Mind

(Clearwisdom.net) When studying the Fa, I did not always reach the state of studying with a calm mind because my understanding of the Fa was not deep enough. I often formed different notions among non-cultivators and took them as standards by which to judge things.

I had considered myself to be making requirements for myself based on the Fa but instead I sank into another layer of the maze. It has even led to conflicts with fellow practitioners. It has not been easy for me to see this attachment.

Subsequently, I fell into another vicious cycle, that of getting stuck in the same place in cultivation. I also tricked myself into thinking that I'm too busy getting things done. The only way to solve this problem is to study with a calm mind and thereby reach the genuine status and standard required for studying the Fa. This is also another manifestation of cultivating the mind.
