Dafa Practitioner Ms. Wang Shiyuan from Liaoning Province Secretly Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Ms. Wang Shiyuan is a 31-year-old Dafa practitioner from Fuxin City, Liaoning Province. On November 6, 2001, she was arrested by Li Jian and other policemen from the Heping Police Station of Haizhou District. Her mother was also taken away and thrown in the detention center. Later on her mother was released after having 7000 yuan* extorted from her. While in detention at the Xindi Detention Center, Ms. Wang was tortured brutally. Her face was swollen and her body was covered with wounds. She went on a hunger strike to protest and request unconditional release. She became very weak and could not stand or walk. Her body was constantly shivering. During one break-time, she even passed out and fell to the ground.

Policewoman Di told Ms. Wang's family that she had heart problems. Di asked her family to hand in some money but did not allow them to visit her. Ms. Wang's family firmly rejected such unreasonable demands and requested Ms. Wang to be released. Later they went to the relevant departments but were told, "We can't attend to this case. If it was not a Falun Gong case, we would have released her." Ms. Wang's family hired a lawyer to help rescue Ms. Wang. Around November 2003, without informing her family's lawyer, the Haizhou District Court secretly sentenced Ms. Wang to five years in Dabei Prison in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province.

Ever since Ms. Wang Shiyuan took up the practice of Falun Gong, she has become a healthy, outgoing, and kindhearted person who is always willing to help others. Her family was happy and harmonious. Now she is being detained and suffering both mental and physical torture just because she wants to be a good person. She did not violate any law, nor did she hurt anybody. We call on kindhearted people to join our efforts to end this great injustice.
