(Clearwisdom.net) From Teacher's lectures, the understanding by practitioners who are working in the field of science or in other professions, is that it is most difficult to verify Dafa or to extensively clarify the facts with present day scientific theories. That is the reason practitioners rarely contemplate problems, even to the extent of not even being willing to look at them, from the angle of science. However through sharing, some practitioners realized that when facing everyday people immersed in science, by removing the thick dust-laden shell of theirs through the aspect of science, not only can we gradually let the people in the scientific community understand the connotations of Dafa, it is also another manifestation of Dafa practitioners benevolently saving sentient beings.

There are many variations in the present development of science. However, amongst them there are possibilities of many discoveries, whether from a positive or negative aspect, that can be utilized to achieve the true spirit of science or lead everyday people to contemplate the variations within. Therefore, from a practitioners' point of view, we should cautiously reflect on the angle from which we should discuss new scientific developments.

We can utilize present scientific points of view to initiate the thoughts of everyday people, as very often, scientific discoveries can open up our thinking, to the extent of enabling us to achieve a better avenue of putting forward the Fa principles during our clarification of the facts, instead of doing it directly. For example, if, in an article from Pure Insight Net "Traditional Theory about Lightning Disproved: Cause of Lightning Still a Myth" we add a little more guidance, we can lead everyday people to contemplate the changes in other dimensions. Another example is the September issue of "Science Magazine" that reported the discovery of matter waves in biological elements by German scientists during their experiments, revealing to us that the microscopic molecular particle-wave duality is in reality the manifestation of the association of consciousness and matter. We can use an analogy to guide everyday people to associate the particle waves and biological consciousness. Furthermore, a scientist of Chinese descent used laser-cooling technology to observe quantum phenomena. From the angle of the Fa, that would be excellent subject matter, when discussing the concept of the microscopic world in relation to its myriad dimensions.

Because we often speak directly about science from the principles of the Fa, everyday people who listen to us often feel that they are too high and too profound for them, hence appropriately utilizing scientific discoveries of everyday people will enable us to speak in terms more in line with their ways of thinking.

2. Spending Time to Understand the Way Everyday People Think Is a Manifestation of Benevolence

Humans do not initially welcome new ideas, but they follow the majority, follow what they see or hear, and finally, unconsciously, accept them, and may even think that they have originally liked them. Teacher said, "A person is like a container, and he is what he contains. If he contains the Fa, he's assimilated to the Fa; if he's filled with dirt, he is dirt." ("Falun Buddha Fa Lecture at the Conference in Singapore", August 22 & 23, 1998). Because of this, we could try to use the themes of interest of everyday people to write and express ourselves so that they will more easily accept us. However, Dafa practitioners must also be responsible for whatever they do, and be responsible towards others. Hence, benevolence is not just to go along with what everyday people desire, but also to offer them the necessary new connotations. Because Fa has the power, because compassionate strength is great, we can feel free to conform to the language of everyday people to speak, as the Fa will enable us to be upright and correct, and to easily express the things that will allow everyday people to accept them.

For example, on one occasion, we were in Hsinchu Peipu, Taiwan, making a speech while launching the book Removing the Veil from Prehistoric Civilizations. It was bustling with noise and excitement that day. Continuous waves of people were stopping to look at our display boards, some looked for a long time, not willing to walk away from them. We were clarifying the facts as well as collecting signatures for the Hong Kong article 23 legislation. It was an unusually busy day. To present subjects that are attractive to people or the hot topic are very important, but the content must be the correct understandings during the process of cultivation by Dafa practitioners. In fact, if the presentation were reasonable and well delivered, everyday people would enjoy reading as well as thinking about it.

Practitioners maintaining news websites and educational columns have had such experiences. They watch the daily access to a website (that is, noting the number of people reading the articles), to understand the main issues that people enjoy, like to read about, or show interest in. Practitioners would enhance those topics, finding or writing additional, similar articles. The contents must be stringently checked. Any article not conforming to Dafa must absolutely not be used. Articles having deviated concepts cannot be used. It was finally discovered that the access to the website never diminished but were actually increasing because everyday people would return as they continue thinking about the topics of interest on that website. Would that not be achieving our aim of letting everyday people unconsciously and gradually eradicate their confused thoughts?

Teacher said: "What today's scientific and technological community has discovered is sufficient to change our present textbooks." (Zhuan Falun, Lecture One, Qigong is Prehistoric Culture), hence we should utilize the many "discoveries" of science and technology, including archaeology, astronomy, medical science and so on, if they are in accordance with "Zhen, Shan, Ren" (Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance), mentioning that they originated from science but are more profound than scientific knowledge. In fact, to clarify the facts requires only a little time and effort. As we progress in our cultivation and elevate our xinxing (heart and mind; moral character), the more we are able to discuss the "true situation" about the cosmos from the angle of everyday people.

In "Lun Yu" Teacher distinctly told us, "The guiding ideology for today's human science is confined only to this physical world in its research and development, as a subject will not be studied until it is recognized--it follows such a path. As for phenomena that are intangible and invisible in our dimension, but objectively exist and are reflected into our physical dimension as concrete manifestations, people dare not approach them, dismissing them as unknown phenomena," therefore, if we can let people examine themselves from the aspect of the present day ideology of science, allow them to renew their understanding between their consciousness and matter and pay attention to the development of science, then they can be guided towards the path of true science. In the future, when textbooks mention these scientific discoveries, they will be the correct understandings of science.

In fact, the truth of the cosmos is a natural manifestation, and not what everyday people consider an exploratory pursuit. It is not just doing things blindly and expecting to discover the truth of the cosmos. At present there are many Dafa practitioners who are scientists so we can utilize our own approach in the exploration of nature and to discuss the discoveries of science from the angle of our search for the true principles of the cosmos. At the same time we can allow the media reporting on science to unfold our pure insight, and the opportunity would be provided to humans to leap beyond the boundaries that are restricting present day science.

From the Fa principles, practitioners already understand that they cannot follow everyday people in their desires and drift with the tide. They must posses the true understanding they have cultivated within the Fa. However, in particular ways of doing things, we are often immersed in modern science and are therefore unable to extricate ourselves from the set patterns of science. However, after those practitioners in the discipline of science and practitioners from other disciplines individually raise issues regarding their understanding of the Fa, we discover that not only have we elevated ourselves in the understanding of the Fa, but our understandings are also harmonized, thus allowing the whole entity to acquire extensive comprehension, and henceforth do things with more purity and compassion.
