Ms. Bai Xiuhua was a Falun Gong practitioner in Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province. She was very firm and went to Beijing to appeal several times. She was detained in a detention center twice and was released after she went on hunger strike. In July 2002 she was arrested again and she went on hungers strike in the Acheng No. 2 detention center. Police instigated male inmates to force feed her. Her esophagus and trachea were both seriously injured after one month of forced feeding and caused suppuration. In August, police attempted to send her to the Wanjia labor camp but were refused by the labor camp. Then police sent her to the Wanjia Labor Camp Hospital and continued to force feed her. They bounded her limbs and gave her an injection. She couldn't spit out her phlegm during the injection so the phlegm flew everywhere, behind her neck, on the pillow and on the bed. The scene was miserable. She died two weeks later. Two days before she died, the hospital called the detention center and told them to have people come pick her up. However, nobody came to pick her up. At 11 p.m. that day, the detention center dispatched someone to come to pick up her remains. The guards said, "We do all these things on the basis of filed orders. Otherwise who would dare to let her die here?"

Recently, the Changchun "610 Office" sent several highly educated practitioners to the brainwashing class in Xinlongshan, Changchun. These practitioners are all highly educated intellectuals. Most of them are engineers ["610 Office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong with absolute authority over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems].

Gao Zhong is the director of the Political Security Office in Wangjiang County, Anhui Province. He utilized his authority to amass wealth, construct a luxurious mansion and support his mistress. After July 20, 1999, he arrested many Falun Gong practitioners and forced their families to submit fines, bails, case process fees etc., each ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 yuan [500 yuan is the average monthly income for an urban Chinese worker]. In the past four years, he has collected a total of hundreds of thousands of yuan. Every time he gives receipts he uses the name of the Political Security Office.

Once the family member of a Falun Gong practitioner asked him to return the bail, he said shamelessly, "I need the money to process the cases." This family member said, "The government should supply the money for processing the cases." He viciously said, "The people in the police department are all fed by whores." Gao Zhong even utilized the excuse of investigating Falun Gong to go to Hefei City and have a good time. He went to Hefei, arrested a 70-year-old practitioner Ms. Su and searched her house with other local policemen. He snatched a gold watch, two bankbooks and 4,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Su was detained for one month and suffered inhumane persecution. After Su's family members came to Wangjiang, Gao Zhong forced them to cover his expenses and pay a large amount of money before he released Su.

Recently, some Dafa material sites have been disrupted. One site has been down for a while. It was damaged when practitioners connected to the Internet. Police used a kind of detection automobile to locate the sites. After they found the sites they stayed at there and monitored them. The residence committee then harassed Falun Gong practitioners and tried to make them write "guarantee letters" [to give up practicing Falun Gong]. Otherwise, they threatened that they would send practitioners to a brainwashing class.

Ms. Wang Zhilan, age 55, lives in Handan City, Hebei Province. She went to Beijing to appeal and was detained in a labor camp for two years. She was detained in the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp. She was sent to the Gaoyang Labor Camp and persecuted. She was electroshocked there, and became emaciated and bruised from the shocks. She was released in 2001. In November 2003, she went to her work unit to receive her pension. However, she was arrested because someone reported that she had been raising awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong. Now it is likely that she is being held in a detention center.

An employee in a factory in Panjin City was laid off and went to a related department to appeal. The receptionist told him, "Don't come to appeal. A few days ago, an employee in the oil field came to appeal and was detained for 20 days in the name of Falun Gong practitioners causing trouble. It is useless to appeal."

There was another similar occurrence. A self-employed man in Dawa County had a dispute with the market administration department on the issue of rent that could not be solved locally. He appealed to the upper authorities level by level, however, no department received him. He had no place to appeal so he could only go to Beijing to appeal. Halfway there, he was intercepted by police and fined. Later, police officers threatened those who want to appeal, "Whoever dares to go appeal, will be arrested like a Falun Gong practitioner and sent to labor camp."

Four practitioners from Menglizi Village, Taijitun Town, Lianshan Area, Huludao City, Ms. Wang Guihua, Ms. Di Suyun, Ms. Sun and another female practitioner were arrested at home by police from the Huludao Police Department and the Taijitun Town Police Station on December 3, 2003. They were sent to the Qitun Detention Center. It is said that someone reported on them.

Nie Yulan is a Falun Gong practitioner in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province and is 59 years old. She lives in the Zhengzhou High Technology Development Area. On December 1, 2003 she was arrested at home by people from the Beijing "610 Office," the Zhengzhou "610 Office" and the chief of the High Tech Area Police Department and sent to the Wanqing Mountain Village Brainwashing Class. Police said that they must transform her. Currently, she is on hunger strike to protest the persecution.

Ms. Ma Yulan, age 66, is a retired teacher in a kindergarten in Hefei. On October 22, 2003, she was arrested at home by police and her house was ransacked. Now she is detained in the Hefei No. 1 Detention Center. Another practitioner Mr. Hu Enkui was arrested and his whereabouts remain unknown.

According to reliable sources, after his forced labor term expired, Dafa practitioner Liu Tao in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province was sent to a brainwashing class by local policeman for long-term torture and detention. Several days ago, it was confirmed that Liu Tao had been sent to the Hebei Province No.1 Hospital for medical treatment. A policeman whose last name is Yin, was there.

In November 2003, more than ten officials from the Gaoyi County 610 Office, Political and Judicial Committee and the Township Police Station in Hebei Province broke into Dafa practitioner Guo Xinxian's home and illegally arrested him. On April 24, 2001, a Dafa practitioner in Dalian, a city in Liaoning Province was illegally arrested at home by police from Dalian City's Police Department. His home was ransacked and almost 10,000 yuan worth of his belongings, including a computer was stolen by the police. He was then illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor re-education. He was detained in the Dalian Forced Labor Camp, the Guanshan Forced Labor Camp in the Liaoning, Benxi Forced Labor Camp and the Huludao Forced Labor Camp. Because he persisted in his belief, he was brutally tortured in each forced labor camp including confinement in a small cell, being shocked, etc. He was extremely weak. Falun Dafa practitioners in Yingchun 854 Farm in Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Eleven Dafa practitioners have been forced to pay a 5,0000 Yuan "deposit". They have been denied salaries for over three years. Among them, 4 people in two families lost their livelihood.

Police from Yingchun Town Police Station and Yingchun Forest Bureau always go to Dafa practitioners' homes. Practitioners have been arrested, their homes have been ransacked and many have been deprived of their income. Six Dafa practitioners were illegally sent to the forced labor camp. After they were released, the police arrested them again. These practitioners had to leave home to avoid illegal arrests.

Dafa practitioner, Xu Youliang, was illegally arrested by the accountant of Chenjia village's Xu Weidong Tourist Site Police Department. He has been illegally detained in the Dalian City Brainwashing Class for a week. It's said that there are 22 Dafa practitioners being illegally detained in the Dalian City Brainwashing Class.

A Dafa practitioner in Desheng Town of Dalian City Development District named Ms. Wang Guilian, 52 years old, was illegally arrested at home by the police from the local police station. She has been held in the Dalian City Brainwashing Class for over 2 months.
