Li Hai is Locked up in Daqing City Prison - Police Forbid His Family to Visit
(Clearwisdom.net) Currently there are over 30 Dafa practitioners
detained in Daqing City Prison, Heilongjiang Province. Every day the prison
police instigate the criminal prisoners to torture the Dafa practitioners and to
restrict Dafa practitioners' moving around in the prison. They assign several
criminal prisoners to follow and monitor each Dafa practitioner. The prison
police even prohibit Dafa practitioners from going downstairs to get their
meals. Instead they assign the criminal prisoners to take meals to the Dafa
practitioners. The prison police are afraid that the criminals may be moved by
the Dafa practitioners' benevolent conduct, so they frequently assign different
prisoners to follow and monitor the practitioners. The police force those
prisoners who do not know the truth about Dafa to torture practitioners. The
police deprive Dafa practitioners of their sleep for long periods of time, force
them to listen to materials that defame Dafa, and torment them physically and
mentally. They try to force the practitioners to give up their belief in the
principle of Falun Dafa "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Tolerance." Scared
of being exposed for their vicious crimes, the prison police forbid the firm
Dafa practitioners from seeing their families. They try to destroy the
practitioners' determination by means of mental torture in a totally isolated
environment. Dafa practitioner Li Hai of Ranghulu District, Daqing City was illegally
abducted on April 18, 2002 for his firm belief in Dafa and for his clarifying
the truth to the people. The same year on November 15, he was secretly sentenced
with an illegal procedure to 12 years of imprisonment by Honggang District Court
of Daqing City. He was then sent to Daqing City prison at the beginning of
December, 2002. (From the time when he was abducted, sentenced, and till he was
imprisoned, his family did not receive any notice whatsoever.) More than a year has gone by since Li Hai was abducted; his family did not
see him once. His family and friends tried their best by using all means to see
him, but every time they were ruthlessly rejected. The only reason for the
rejection was that Li Hai refused to give up his belief, and refused to write
the "five statements."* In the October of this year, 2003, the prison again deprived Dafa
practitioners of their sleep, trying to force them to give up their belief. Li
Hai's wife went to the prison and wanted to see him but the head of the 2nd
prison Zhu Renshan told Li Hai's wife, "I heard that you also practice
Falun Gong, if you say now that Falun Gong is not good, I will let you see him
right away." He then said, "It is not me who does not let you see him,
it is the order from 'above' that says 'No transformation, no visits'." The
head of the team in which Li Hai is detained said, "It is no use even if
you go to the 'above' and talk to them. If he refuses to write the 'five
statements', you will not be able to see him for 12 years." The end of this year is soon approaching and Li Hai's family went to the
prison again. This time they went directly to the assistant head of the prison
Wang Yingjie whose main responsibility is to persecute Falun Gong. When the
family members asked to see Li Hai, Wang Yingjie said, "As long as he is

5105087, 13303690588 Brief information about Mr. Li Hai: Mr. Li Hai was a teacher of the 64th middle school of Daqing City
and he was expelled from his job at the end of 2000 because of the persecution.
Before he started to practice Falun Gong, he had rheumatism, hepatitis B, and
serious neurosis, and he had to rely on medication everyday. Since the spring of
1996 he started to cultivate in Falun Dafa and all the illnesses disappeared and
his moral character kept elevating. Because he persisted in his belief and spoke
of the truth, he was illegally persecuted many times. He had to leave home and
became homeless to avoid further persecution since May of 2001. He was arrested
in April of 2002. Without evidence, the police accused him of making equipments
for the switch of a TV system to broadcast things, and fabricated other false
accusations against him and illegally sentenced him to 12 years of imprisonment.
He has been illegally imprisoned in Daqing City prison since then. *Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as
proof that they have given up their belief. Created by the "610
Office," these statements include a letter of repentance, a guarantee to
never again practice Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family
