(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Song Yonghua, 45 years old, was a resident of Yanji City. In 2003, she was sentenced illegally to a ten-year prison term. On October 30, 2003 she was tortured to death at the Helong Detention Center, Yanji City, Jilin Province. Ms. Song began practicing Falun Dafa in spring 1995. On November 9, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Dafa. She was arrested and detained for 15 days. Later she announced that she would appeal again. She was again illegally detained, and was released after she went on a hunger strike. On November 23, 2001, she was arrested when making Dafa truth materials. She was tortured brutally, her arm was injured, and she suffered for quite some time from this injury.

During the detention, her health deteriorated. She suffered from acute heart diseases and other illness symptoms. She became incapacitated and was unable to take care of herself. During the spring of 2003, she was transferred to the Helong Detention Center. While there she was sentenced, between June and July of 2003, to ten years in jail. She died on October 30, 2003 at the Helong Detention Center. Her relatives tried to have her released for medical treatment, but did not succeed.
