New York Practitioners Hold Sit-in in Front of Chinese Consulate, Call for Punishing the Murderers Who Tortured Liu Chengjun to Death (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) At 6:00p.m. on December 29, 2003, more than a hundred Falun Gong practitioners in New York gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate at 42nd Street in Manhattan and peacefully performed the exercises and sitting meditation. They strongly condemned the Jiang regime's torturing Falun Gong practitioner Liu Chengjun to death, and called for punishing the evil policemen and the murderers in Changchun City, bringing Dictator Jiang to justice and ending the persecution of Falun Gong.

According to Clearwisdom.net, on March 5, 2002, eight channels on the Changchun cable TV network aired "Falun Dafa Around the World," "Self-immolation or Staged Event," and other truth clarification programs. The broadcast lasted 40-50 minutes without interruption. The broadcast allowed many people to find out the truth about how Falun Gong is being slandered and persecuted, sending shockwaves throughout Mainland China, as well as outside China. Falun Gong practitioner Liu Chengjun was a major part of this courageous act. Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin, who single-handedly started the bloody persecution against Falun Gong, became furious and extremely scared. He gave the order to "kill [those responsible] without pardon."

After enduring cruel torture in prison for one year and nine months, Liu Chengjun passed away at 4 a.m. on December 26, 2003. On the same day, the Jilin Prison gathered large groups of police and forcibly cremated the body at 11 a.m. The cremation was done without an autopsy and against the family's wishes. Eyewitnesses stated that Liu Chengjun's body had bloodstains near the nostrils, ears, thighs, and other areas.

In Mainland China, the Falun Gong practitioners' freedoms of speech and belief have been completely stripped away. The Falun Gong practitioners who exercise their freedoms of speech and belief have been subjected to a bloody persecution, and the Jiang regime's state-run media have done their utmost to cover up and disguise the use of violence and torture to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Under these circumstances, Liu Chengjun and other practitioners' act of broadcasting truth-clarifying programs in Mainland China is safeguarding the citizens' Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms of speech and belief, and the people's right to know. The selfless sacrifice of Falun Gong practitioners like Liu Chengjun has enabled more and more people to learn about the truth of Falun Gong.

A Falun Gong practitioner from New Jersey who participated in this activity stated that similar activities were held simultaneously in many places in North America, such as New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, North California, Chicago in Illinois, Houston in Texas, Ottawa in Canada, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and other places in Canada. Many people spontaneously participated in the activity after hearing the news.

New York Falun Gong practitioners expressed that all the murderers who have persecuted Falun Gong practitioners will be punished, with no exception for head criminal Jiang Zemin, who started the persecution campaign. The policemen and murderers in Changchun City who persecuted Falun Gong practitioners in large areas using the excuse of the incident of tapping into cable TV signals on March 5, 2002, will definitely be punished!
