A Few Words About My Understanding of "The Process" and "The Result"
By a Dafa Practitioner in Japan
(Clearwisdom.net) Ever since our Teacher told us that we should
emphasize the process, many practitioners have started to pay no attention to
the result, and they think that it is fine if they just did the work. I believe that the process and the result are interrelated. A process that
does not lead to a result does not exist. Neither does a result exist that did
not require a process. A process will certainly bring about a result. My understanding is as follows: The ultimate goal of Dafa practitioners is to
save people. The effectiveness of the salvation is not only determined by the
result of a process, it is reflected in whether we, in the process of doing Dafa
work, can comprehensively clarify the truth and eliminate the evil in other
dimensions so as to achieve the goal of saving people. If we do not care about
our effectiveness in saving people, I believe that we have incorrectly
understood the Fa. Another aspect is the cultivation of our hearts. Teacher's recent lectures
are to help us with all aspects of our cultivation. They are not a set of
instructions of how to do certain work. Therefore, it is very important that we
understand well the Fa with the right heart, with the hearts of Fa-rectification
period Dafa disciples. This is my personal understanding. Please point out anything that is
incorrect. November 21, 2003
