(Clearwisdom.net) Mrs. Xin Yuzhen, age 42, was a teacher at Daqing City Sixth Middle School. Her husband, Jiang Nianxiang, is a mining engineer, but he was reassigned to menial labor because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Dafa's principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."

Xin Yuzhen went to Beijing to appeal on June 4, 2000 and was arrested by the Daqing "610 Office" when she got off the train in Beijing [the "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]. She was sent back to Daqing on June 6, and was illegally held in the Daqing Detention Center for 75 days. The Daqing City Sixth Middle School asked her family to pay 20,000 yuan as fines and travel fees [500 yuan equals the average yearly salary of an urban worker].

After she was released from the detention center, Mrs. Xin was sent to the Daqing Petroleum Control Education Center and was forced to attend the brainwashing class for a total of 18 days. She went on a hunger strike to protest her illegal detention and brainwashing, and was sent to the hospital on the fifth day of her hunger strike.

In November 28, 2000, Mrs. Xin Yuzhen went to Beijing to validate Dafa again. She held up a truth-clarifying banner in Tiananmen Square. She was later arrested and sent to the Daqing "610 Office" in Beijing after a severe beating. On the second day of detention, Mrs. Xin escaped and was forced to be homeless for seven months.

On December 30, 2000, Xin Yuzhen went to Beijing to appeal again for Dafa and was arrested. She firmly resisted all prison police orders and requests, and she went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. After nine days she was unconditionally released.

On May 11, 2001, during a Fa Conference, the Daqing Ranqu Police arrested Xin Yuzhen and sent her to the Daqing Detention Center. After 40 days of being on a hunger strike, she was sentenced to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center for one year. On May 11, 2002, she was released.

In the early morning of September 6, 2002, Mrs. Xin was arrested by the Daqing Ranqu police again, and transferred to the Daqing Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike for one month to protest the persecution. The prisoners dragged her out and brutally force-fed her. Later, she was transferred to Daqing Saqu Detention Center, where she continued the hunger strike. On December 3, 2002, she was transferred to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center and was later sentenced to three years of forced labor. Because the information was sealed, we don't have any detailed information about her condition in the labor camp.

While she and her husband, Jiang Nianxiang, were detained by the Daqing Ranqu police, their 77-year-old mother and 14-year-old child were living alone at home. After the couple was arrested, there was nobody to take care of the grandmother and child. The aging mother's health was not very good. After the shock of the police raid, she fell and was hospitalized. Her condition continued to get worse thereafter, and she passed away in October 2003. Mrs. Xin and her husband are still unaware of this. Their 14-year-old child was expelled from school and became homeless. Later, I heard that a relative adopted the child.

The Daqing National Security Bureau participated in the persecution of Mrs. Xin and her husband. They have also monitored practitioners who live close by.

A happy family has been destroyed by Jiang's regime, just because they believed in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and wanted to be good people.
