The Persecution of Dafa Practitioners in Xinzhou, Wuhan City, Hubei Province

Recently, Jiang Zemin visited Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Thereafter, a new round of persecution against Dafa practitioners in the Xinzhou area of Wuhan City was initiated.

Liuji Town

Liuji Town is the site of the brainwashing sessions in Xinzhou area. There you will find detained practitioners from every district, community, town and county in the province. In this place, under the order of the "610 Office", the policemen and hired ruffians torture practitioners with beatings, exposure to the elements, pouring cold water on them, hanging them up by handcuffs, shocks with electric batons and confinement to iron cages and deprivation of sleep for long periods of time. They also use collaborators [former practitioners who have turned against Dafa due to brainwashing and torture] and rumors to deceive and harm practitioners who did not study the Fa in depth. The steadfast practitioners were confined in a special iron cage, where one can neither sit nor stand nor lean. The only achievable position is to bend the body forward and squat down. Practitioners were forced to stay in this awkward position for long periods of time. Then several policemen surrounded the cage with electric batons in hand and shocked the practitioner until he lost consciousness. The police would then pour cold water on the practitioner to wake him up and then continue shocking him with the electric batons. They used such means to try to force practitioners to write the "Three Statements" [Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief. Created by the "610 Office," the three statements consist of a letter of repentance, a guarantee to never again practice Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners.] When the practitioners leave the brainwashing sessions, the vicious police put the picture of the founder of Falun Gong on the floor and force those people who yielded under the pressure and torture to step on the picture and spit on it to ensure that the "transformation" is complete.

Fenghuang Town

Police arrested three Dafa practitioners during the "SARS" epidemic when the practitioners went to Xinzhou city to hand out truth-clarification materials. Those practitioners were sent to Wuhan Hewan Forced Labor Camp.

At about 10:00am on October 15, Gao Zhilu and Guo Lisheng from the town government drove two cars and abducted practitioner Ms. Zhu Chunlan from Fenghuang Town. Ms. Gao's whereabouts are currently unknown.

On the evening of October 30, Gao Zhilu, Guo Wenbing and another 6 vicious people abducted two practitioners and then drove them to Sancha Road. They broke into the home of Dafa practitioners Mr. Guo Chunsheng and Ms. Zhang Congju, a married couple. At that time, Mr. Guo's brother was trying to deal nicely with those vicious people but he was pushed out of the room. Those people pushed Mr. Guo's wife down a flight of stairs. The ruffians then searched Mr. Guo's home and really made a mess. In this emergency situation, Mr. Guo's wife ran out of the house and shouted loudly for help. When people in the neighborhood came, they found that eight men were trying to leave in a hurry. Mrs Zhang realized that something was wrong, rushed into the room and saw that Mr. Guo was lying on the floor and there was blood all over his body, face and the floor. The neighbors carried Mr. Guo to a bed, but when they couldn't stop his bleeding, the family rushed Mr. Guo to the emergency room of the People's Hospital of Xinzhou District. But Mr. Guo's injuries were too severe and he was pronounced dead at 8:00 pm on October 31, 2003.

Sandian Town

On October 15, 2003, police from the 1^st section of Xinzhou District Police Station, together with several vicious people from Sandian Town rushed into Sandian Elementary School and abducted practitioner Ms. Ding Yuliang who was teaching a class.

Cangbu Street

The police substation of Cangbu Street drove police vehicles around to arrest Dafa practitioners. In the first week of November, the police went to Zhang Shenyou's home twice. Since practitioner Zhang Shenyou was not home, they were not able to persecute him. Mr. Zhang was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution and become homeless again.

Kongbu Street

Since November 1, the "610 Office" and the police from a local substation near or on Kongbu Street drove police vehicles to arrest Dafa practitioners, causing many practitioners to leave home and go from one place to another to avoid persecution.

The vicious people who caused the death of Mr. Guo Chunsheng in Xinzhou District are listed below:

Gao Zhilu, Luo Yinhe, Guo Wenbin, Guo Lisheng and 4 ruffians whose names are unknown yet.
