Jiutai City Court in Jilin Province Puts on a Cultural Revolution Style Show Trial

(Clearwisdom.net) On November 11, 2003, Jiutai City Court of Jilin Province secretly put thirteen Dafa practitioners on trial. Handcuffed from the back and rope tied around the neck, the Dafa practitioners were brought to the court. Choked by the ropes, they were not allowed to defend themselves and all later sentenced to jail terms. The following are the details.

A few days before this secret trial, these thirteen Dafa practitioners, who had been kept in the Jiutai City Detention Center for a long period of time, each suffered severe beatings. The beatings injured the practitioners in various ways: Mr. Shi Wenzhuo has bruises all over his body; Ms. Liu Yamin suffered broken teeth; Ms. Han Xiaolian's eyes swelled shut and she could not see. The police handcuffed these thirteen Dafa practitioners behind their back, tied ropes around their necks and secretly brought them to the court. In the court, the police did not allow the practitioners to speak up for themselves. They would tighten the rope when anyone spoke, so the practitioner was choked and could not utter a word.

These thirteen Dafa practitioners had been put into handcuffs from the day they were put into Jiutai City Detention Center until they were illegally sentenced and transferred to jail, where they have experienced inhuman tortures.

The following are the names of the thirteen Dafa practitioners and some information concerning them. All of them were in the Jiutai City Detention Center:

Mr. Sun Lianbao, in his 40's, a farmer. In April of 2001 he was locked up. This was brought about by the police department's telephone tracking and global positioning system. He was arrested and put into the Jiutai City Detention Center, and then sentenced to a 13-year term.

Ms. Liu Yamin, in her 40's, was arrested from home in November 2002 without any valid reason.

Ms. Han Xiaolian, around age 40, was on the wanted list of Jiutai City Police Department. She had to stay away from home. In May of 2001, she was arrested on her way to visit her young daughter.

Mr. Zhu Dehua, in his 50's; Mr. Shi Wenzhuo, around age 30; Ms. Liu Liying, age 32. They were arrested and put into Jiutai City Detention Center in late November of 2002.

Mr. Wang Dianhua, age 42; Ms. Zhang Jinghua, around age 40, and her younger sister (name unknown), around age 40, they were arrested from their homes in December 2002 without any cause.

Mr. Tian Wenkai, in his 50's, a retired coal miner, was arrested from home in January 2003 without any valid cause.

Ms. Liu (first name unknown), in her 50's, and two other practitioners (names unknown) have been kept in the Jiutai City Labor Camp.

While these thirteen Dafa practitioners were being held at the Jiutai City Detention Center, they were deprived of the right of receiving family visits, which continued until they were sentenced. They also suffered from the police's savage torture.

The news of the illegal and secret sentences for the thirteen people was not announced to the general public in Jiutai City. The family members of those Dafa practitioners did not know it at all. They found out from released prisoners.

Those people in Jiutai City who make a mockery of the law were afraid of Dafa practitioners exposing the facts. They deprived the practitioners of their right to defend themselves in the court. However, these people will undoubtedly receive punishment for their crimes in due time.
